Between 5 and 11 October, we will join hospices across the UK to mark Hospice Care Week.
Awareness weeks like this matter. Not only do they get people talking, but they can also drive real change that helps support local families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.
Too many people are missing out on the essential care hospices provide. In fact, recent reports show that nearly 1 in 3 people don’t get the care they need at end of life. With a system so heavily reliant on charitable income, the amount of government funding hospices receive varies significantly and leaves the future of services feeling more uncertain than ever.
At Barnsley Hospice, we are incredibly grateful for the support of our wonderful community. Quite simply, we would not be here without you. However, we know demand for our services is growing, and we must ensure we can continue to evolve, develop and provide outstanding care for years to come.
That is why we are joining Hospice UK in saying: Don't leave hospice care to chance.
Please help us mark Hospice Care Week. Whether you share our posts, wear hospice orange, make a donation, or simply tell someone about the work we do, you'll be helping to raise awareness and make a difference.
