Nope.

Your building does need a firm and level base, but concrete isn't your only option.

Depending on your garden, an existing patio or slabbed area may be suitable, or our EZ Base system can sometimes be used where the ground isn't already perfectly level.

There are a few things we hear all the time that simply aren't true...

❌ MYTH #1: “Pressure-treated means I never need to treat it.”

Not quite.

Pressure treatment helps protect the timber against rot and fungal decay, but it doesn't make the wood waterproof. Your garden building will still need a good-quality exterior treatment to protect it from the British weather and keep it looking its best. We do offer a 10-year anti-rot guarantee on all of our timber.

This customer’s garden building is tucked into a tight space, but because the base has been prepared properly, the building can still sit level, solid and secure.

Before we install any garden building, the base needs to be firm, level and square. Get that right, and everything else has the best possible start.
