1960’s Medium Sized Mid Century Desk – Cabinet. Superb practical piece of mid century storage by the Czech maker Up Zavody. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the Bauhaus school. The cabinet features three good sized drawers at the bottom with solid handles. Above these sits a small shelf. The top features a pull down flap opening to reveal a beautifully made and practical desk, the desk retains the original key. The little vertical filing compartments separated with glass that can be removed. The whole cabinet is made in a mixture of sapele, oak and birch veneers, beautifully made and in exceptional condition. Our workshop has gently restored the cabinet and all doors and drawers open smoothly.

1950’s Mahieu Bentwood Classic Dining Chairs – Set Of Four. Classic 50’s beech bistro chair made in France by the maker Mahieu. Not much is known of the history of Mahieu except they were a was a small artisanal producer in Romeries in the north of France, and closed its production in the 1980’s. A classic French bentwood producer in the same style as Baumann, Thonet or J.J. Kohn. This set is very original with a rich warm honey colour, well shaped backs and a well loved colour and character. Stunning original condition. We service and wax each chair before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.

1980’s Flame Oak Fanback Armchair – Set Of Eight. Good quality classic bentwood armchairs with a typical fan back arm shape in a clean flame oak colour. The chairs were made by TON. They use solid beech and steam bend to get that iconic bentwood look. They are a heavy weight robust chair with a good wear and age. Our workshop has serviced each chair, and are good to go.

The frame is a rich honey colour made from birch and beech. Our workshop has cleaned and serviced the table, it is strong and stable and good to go.

1960’s Mullca Low Stacking Stool – White – Pair. Sourced from the French Army these stools were used in field operations as bedside tables/stools. In 1947 Robert Muller and Gaston Cavaillon created the company that went on to develop arguably the most famous French school chair. Sadly the company no longer exists but vintage Mullca can still be found, beautifully made with a strong tubular frame, the stools have birch seats. Our workshop team clean and service the stools before they leave us.

1930’s Original French Cast Base Café Dining Table (4776). Fischel was founded in 1871 by Czech born David Gabriel Fischel, a successful vegetable oil merchant, using the first hand knowledge of his eldest son who had worked in one of Thonets Czech factories. First production was made in Germany in Niemes near the Danube. Later production moved to France in Alsace and sales offices were opened in most major French cities as Fischel became a major furniture producer. This table dates from the thirties featuring a heavy, solid cast metal base and the original rich coloured oak top. A beautiful survivor in original condition throughout, a practical table.

1950’s French Bentwood Swivel Office Chair. Unusual French atelier chair probably made by Baumann. Made in bent beech with a heavy weight beech base. The chair swivels and has a crude screw height adjustment. The chair has been cleaned and serviced in our workshops, it is good to go.
