Structural repairs

Couple of chairs ready to go back to a previous customer today. The oak balloon back chair was in a sorry state with a broken rear leg and stile. Both slightly difficult repairs due where the breaks were. And the other a ash farmhouse style chair which had loose joints. This had to be almost completely taken a part to repair all the joints.

Just restored this stunning Bureau for a customer in South Queensferry. The customer inherited it from his father and wanted it restored back to its original colour. Don’t think I’ve actually worked on one which was as badly sun bleached as this one. The drop down front also had a couple of splits and cracks plus it wouldn’t pull down due to a problem with the drop down hinges. Now repaired and fully restored and ready to be dropped off to the customer tonight.

Just restored this Victorian tub chair frame for an interior designer from Edinburgh. It was in poor condition, the french polish was badly damaged and had to be completely removed and re done. Now looking great and restored back to the way it should look. All ready to get picked up next week then off to get re upholstered.

Nice small painted occasional table returned to a lovely previous customer this morning. Table was completely stripped back to remove the old paint. Then redone Antique white to match customers other furniture.

Just finished restoring these Ercol Windsor armchair and footstool. As can be seen on the before pictures they were looking a bit tired and had a few marks on them. The old finish was completely stripped back and sanded to remove any marks. Then refinished with a durable gloss clear coat and now looking like new again. Now I just need to drop them off to Laura tomorrow to do the re webbing on them 👍

Returned this stunning solid oak table today. It was in for the tabletop to get fully restored. It had slightly come apart the joint running the full length of the table. Plus it had a few splits and cracks on it and a few marks. Forgot to take more before pictures 🙄 to highlight the damage. But now looking great after being repaired and restored and another happy customer.

Just finished repairing this rather expensive Ralph Lauren directors chair for a customer in North Berwick. Some of the joints on the frame had become loose causing the leather seat base to sag. Now repaired and ready to get picked up by the customer. If you look at the pictures it has some slight ware on the right front leg. But customer wanted to leave that to keep it original.

This stunning large table was in to get the tabletop restored. As can be seen on the before pictures it had a load of surface scratches and various other marks It also needed a couple of areas filled. The old finish was completely stripped back then lightly sanded to remove the scratches etc. then refinished with a durable satin clear coat and is now ready to be returned to its owner tomorrow.
