A proper bank holiday weekend ahead at last: sunshine, blue skies and actual heat coming next week ☀️. The perfect excuse to throw open the doors and have lunch indoors-out.

A first glimpse from a project photographed for us recently - the open-plan kitchen/dining end of the room, dressed for exactly that kind of slow summer lunch.

Curtains in Vine Flower by , hung from a covered lath so the heading sits right up against the cornice and the arched doors aren’t obscured.

Three rooms, three colourways - all in ‘Squiggle’, which has quietly become one of our favourite fabrics. It does that rare thing of feeling both fresh and timeless, and behaves brilliantly whether it’s on a Roman blind, piped up on a deep kitchen bench seat, or used with a frill across a generous sofa.

Swipe through to see it in: Sage on a skirted sofa for our latest shoot (with the wonderful behind the lens - and our four-legged art director making sure standards stayed high)…

A look back at Focus 2024 at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, and a reminder of how much craft goes into capturing a stand once it’s dressed.

These showroom spaces are deceptively small - every angle has to earn its place, and shooting in a tight footprint means working with what’s already there: the track lighting overhead, the lamps you’ve layered for atmosphere, the natural light spilling in from the aisle. Every shot is a quiet negotiation between all of them.

Watching work was a lesson in patience. Tripod inches forward, lampshade nudged half a degree, a cushion straightened, wait, reshoot. Some of these frames came out of corners barely big enough to stand in - squeezing past furniture, balancing the camera over the edge of a bed, getting low to find the line that made the room feel generous rather than cramped.

The finished images make it look effortless. The behind-the-scenes shots are a more honest story. Thank you Tom 🙏

A Chelsea townhouse project by for which we made the dining room roman blinds in one of Josef Frank’s classic patterns some years ago.

Last weekend I finally made the pilgrimage to on Strandvägen in Stockholm. Upstairs, framed on the wall, was the original artwork for the very pattern we’d used in Charlotte’s project. I hadn’t expected to meet it there.

A small full circle, a few years in the making. 🌱

A little look back at a project close to my heart ✨
This was my client’s previous home in Northamptonshire - she has since moved, but I’m so happy to still be working with her. 🤍

We kicked things off in one of the girls’ rooms with this pretty pink print by , complete with a mini pelmet in the same fabric to match. We often add these when blinds sit outside the window recess; they frame the blind beautifully and hide the less-than-picturesque edges of the cassette, but when the fabric is this pretty, they become a little feature in their own right 🌸

Moving through to the master bedroom, we used ‘Seaweed’ in Beige by , finishing the headrails with little fabric flaps -or ‘ears’ - that add a sweet detail and a neat edge to the blinds.

And finally, it’s always a joy to discover new fabric designers - my client had chosen this gorgeous design by for the family bathroom, a pretty floral that made up so beautifully into a blind.

It’s so often those small details that make all the difference 🦚🌱

The scale and shape needed something that felt intentional: not like an afterthought. We designed a curved pelmet to follow the arch exactly, paired with soft yellow curtains and a sheer for privacy.

From early sketches through to installation, it was all about getting the proportions just right. The excellent ensured everything fitted exactly.

One of the best parts of any project is coming back once everything is in place- seeing the room being lived in, and how something that started as a ‘problem’ becomes a real feature.

We come across all sorts of window shapes, but this one is a particular joy. I think it’s the combination of scale, colour… and the satisfaction of bringing an idea to life 💛

Swipe to see how much these curtains changed the room →

The original sheers felt cold and a bit lifeless.
The space needed warmth; especially in the evenings.

We introduced a rich terracotta linen, added a trim detail,
and raised the height to make the windows feel more generous.

I love that it’s the same room, just with a completely different feeling. Warmer, softer, and somewhere you actually want to sit.

My clients say they now love going into the room which you can just glimpse as you enter the front door.

A single change, done properly, can shift everything.

A throwback to one of my favourite bedroom schemes with in her Chelsea townhouse project. Charlotte chose a calm palette including ‘Palmyre’, for curtains and blinds. The room leads on to a very sunny terrace so we created sheer curtains for the windows, with beautiful touches of warm yellow on the bedside tables that really lift the space.

We had such fun designing these lampshades for the bases that Charlotte found at auction, and I love the handles and the leather-wrapped handles on the fitted wardrobes. It’s these kinds of details that make a room so interesting: and Charlotte is always great fun to work with! ✨

Sheers on café rods 🤍

I’ve been asked to do more and more of these lately - and I completely understand why. They let the light pour in while softly diffusing it, giving that gentle privacy without ever feeling heavy.

Shown here in bathrooms, bedrooms and landings, each slightly different in detail:

The first show soft folds of fabric gathered on cafe rods top and bottom in a Chelsea townhouse project for 🌿

Next, a bathroom and bedroom in a Cotswolds project for featuring a sweet flop over detail in fabric

And the last two: café curtains in a landing where sheers give prettiness and privacy. Here we used café rods with rings so that the curtains can be drawn to each side for even more light. The chairs in this picture were upholstered by us in a gorgeous fabric 💛

A very calm and restful guest bedroom in our Barnes project with brought together a pleasing mix of old and new.

We made curtains in one of our favourite designs, finished with a straight pelmet for a look that feels both traditional and contemporary. The headboard is upholstered in textured linen, and the bedside tables are vintage , paired with lamp bases by 💡We spent a long time finding the right shade, and in the end stumbled across the perfect partner, serendipitously at Peter Jones….

The central pendant shade is by the very clever team at and scalloped bedspread by with our own runner made in fabric with a glorious .designs trim 💫

I loved sourcing the antique chest of drawers, which fits the space perfectly… I do think a piece like this brings so much warmth and character and somehow ‘grounds’ the room.
