2026 has definitely given me a few things to think about. 😂
Every growing season teaches you something, but this year has really highlighted how much I need to adapt the way I’m farming to the weather we’re getting.
So I’ve been thinking about what I can actually change for 2027 rather than just crossing my fingers and hoping for a kinder growing season.
Better water management.
More focus on the soil.
More cover crops and mulch.
More autumn sowing and biennials.
And generally trying to build a more resilient flower farm.
There’s also one fairly big change happening behind the scenes later this year which is going to make a big difference to our water collection… but I’m keeping that one under wraps for now. 👀
The aim isn’t necessarily to grow more and more every year. It’s to grow better, work smarter and make the farm more resilient.
Although knowing me, I’ll probably still find another 47 things to grow. 😂
What has this growing season taught you?
