This all over colourwork design is one of my favourites. The colours used, the mix of the snowflake and chevron motifs and the opportunity to collaborate with a friend on the idea. This design was my seasonal set in 2024 working with talented yarn dyer Shannon from Shannon Long. This design is knitted cuff down, has a stitch count for 3 sizes, an easy to follow colourwork chart and a shadow wrap heel. The pattern and yarn used to make these socks is currently available as a kit in the beautiful Richmond yarn shop Knit With Me.

Too good not to share twice in another colourway! Iā€™m super proud of this pattern as it made itā€™s way into the Spring 2026 issue ā€˜Open Waterā€™ of Laine Publishing. This is a great first colourwork sock project, no fuss around the heel, only two colours, nice short floats and would be fab in so many colour combinations. This is the DK weight version of the Unisex design. The pattern is written for both 4ply and DK weight yarn, they are knitted cuff down and there is a stitch count for 4 sizes in each weight. Inspired by my many trips to Donegal visiting my in-laws and the view of mount Aghla and lough Finn. My husband is still waiting for a pair of theseā€¦ maybe he will be lucky this Christmas!

Hot Spot is a bright, bold and fun colourwork sock design aimed to bring joy every time you wear them! I love a polka dot and knitted in high energy and contrast colours these socks give a great dopamine hit. The socks are knitted cuff down and have a short row shadow wrap heel to allow for the colourwork design to flow along the leg and length of the foot.

Iā€™ve been very lucky to be able to work with Nicola & Louise again from Nicola & Louise (Ainsworth & Prin) who have dyed sets of their classic sock yarn for my latest pattern.

The Frosty Night socks are a cosy design, knitted cuff down with a traditional stranded colourwork motif and modern colour blocking. The pattern has a colourwork chart to follow, stitch count for 3 circumference sizes and foot length is adjustable to suit in the stripe section.

These joyful socks are knitted cuff down with an all over tulip motif and shadow wrap short row heel. I used Scheepjes Metropolis yarn for this design and enjoyed working with it. The 4ply yarn is slightly thicker and there is a lovely range of colours to select from. I really want to knit a second pair with a sand/cream main colour, red flowers and green leaves for a Christmas/seasonal vibe!

52 Weeks of Scrap Yarn there had to be a sock version.
These look best when you pick a solid neutral main colour so your chosen pretty bits can shine. Make a rainbow like I did, select tonal colours that fade or go random with your favourite leftover yarn scraps.

Winter Holiday socks is one of my earlier patterns and most popular designs. Itā€™s part of 4 seasonal sock designs which also included Spring Getaway, Summer Break and Autumn Retreat.

Now I know some people donā€™t like the ā€˜Cā€™ word too early but it is only 10 weeks away so now would be a great time to cast on some Christmas socks! šŸŒ²

This fun all over heart and chains colourwork design is knitted cuff down. Do as many chart repeats as you wish to create a long or short sock leg. I LOVE šŸ’•ā¤ļø pink and red together and really enjoyed working with this Meia yarn.
I have been thinking about a teal and purple version or a pair using a colour changing yarn. What colours would you use?
