WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED BLIND & CURTAIN FITTER

As Hot House continues to grow, we’re looking to expand our fitting team and would love to hear from an experienced self-employed blind and curtain installer to work with us on a flexible, ongoing basis.

Our installations are often at the more specialist end of the market, including bespoke curtains and Roman blinds, large curtain tracks, ceiling-fixed systems, motorised blinds and tracks.

We’re looking for someone who is highly experienced, practical and an excellent problem solver, with meticulous attention to detail and a professional, friendly manner with our clients.

Experience with Somfy motorisation and premium curtain track systems would be a real advantage, as would a carpentry or joinery background.

This is initially a flexible, self-employed opportunity for 2 days work a week with the potential to develop into regular ongoing work.

A branded company fitting van and professional tools can be provided on a van share basis if required.

Based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, with projects across the surrounding areas.

A statement in alabaster ✨

Lighting has the ability to completely transform a space, and this beautiful recent installation is one of our finest examples.

At the centre of the scheme, the spectacular 21-light alabaster chandelier creates a real focal point through the stairwell, complemented by coordinating alabaster wall lights to carry the soft, warm glow throughout the space, which look stunning off and on.

We love working with natural alabaster, every piece has its own unique veining and character, and when illuminated it creates the most beautiful diffused light.

For us, decorative lighting is never an afterthought. The scale, position and relationship between each fitting are carefully considered as part of the overall interior, creating a scheme that feels cohesive, elegant and beautifully balanced.

Some lights deserve a post all of their own… ✨

This is one of many incredible statement lights we’ve had the pleasure of supplying this summer with more to share over the coming weeks.

At this scale, lighting isn’t something we simply select from an image and hope it works. Every piece is carefully considered as part of the overall room design. We draw the space to scale, incorporating the proposed lighting, so our clients can really visualise the proportions and impact before making their final choice.

And this one certainly required some planning!

At an incredible 1.5 metres long and weighing over 100kg, provisions had to be made within the ceiling to be sure this was ok to install.

Huge thanks to for transporting this for us.

Layer upon layer of beautiful smoked glass creates this dramatic cascading form — breathtaking when unlit, but once illuminated it completely transforms the space.

We also selected the coordinating sculptural glass wall lights, bringing another layer of warmth and detail to the room without competing with the main event.

When curtains become part of the artwork…

We absolutely loved seeing this installation come together.

These beautiful bespoke curtains were created using fabric from the Kyra Cane x Villa Nova collection, inspired by the expressive landscape paintings and ceramics of British ceramicist and artist Kyra Cane.

The painterly design works beautifully across this incredible expanse of glazing — soft and understated through the upper section, with layers of earthy greens, chalky blues and warm terracotta bringing colour and movement through the lower half.

Suspended from our favourite discreet tracks, with wave heading on the curtains keeping the finish contemporary and architectural.

When closed, the curtains create an almost panoramic piece of art.

Privacy Sun Screen Roller Blinds

Ideal for providing the perfect balance between sun protection whilst still enjoying the scenery (did you spot the beautiful garden at this lovely home?!)

We mounted this blind in a matt black Cassette to hide the roll and brackets for a contemporary look. The fabric is Perspective Grey and is a really nice texture.

Powered by Somfy, with the option of adding a home hub for those clients who want to have there blinds on timers, voice activated or to operate from your phone when your not home for extra security.

Lounge Re-Design

Today we were invited back to work on a new project for our lovely clients in Biddenham.

We got the chance to photograph some of our recent work in this warm family home. We designed and converted this open plan space from cool greys to warm earthy neutrals.

The big win was the media unit we designed and brought to life with the help of who came on board to make it for us. Two sliding doors hide away a utility and window giving the illusion of a much broader space and creating a beautiful focal point.

We did what we do best, layered the room with stunning wall to wall voile curtains, added textured wallpaper with fluted panels and wall art, cushions, cushions and more cushions. Lighting, rugs and all the trimmings, it looks fabulous and we’re excited to continue this theme into the hall stairs and landing.

Individualism

It’s a thing

We had the pleasure of dressing this beautiful window for some very loyal clients in Woburn Sands.

We went for simplicity to let the fabric do the talking and it certainly does that, some may say shouting but that was the intention. This home oozes style, even more so now that it has fuchsia pink sumptuous curtains!

Naturally we suspended them from the best tracks on the market by , huge thanks to Mark for the accurate measure and perfect fit, he makes this look easy.

A place to chew the fat, sip the drink and catch up as a family.

Thankful to be able to come down to this calming sanctuary of a morning and to come home here after a good days work and relax with my family. The investment and planning was worth it and I owe thanks to JLB Building for extending our home so wonderfully, and to Stadium Studios in Milton Keynes for making me a beautiful kitchen!
