A few iPhone snaps of a kitchen refresh I worked on with the wonderful NI Refinishing earlier this year. We replaced the tired old worktop with a fresh quartz one, added a central prep island, replaced the previous floor with a fun terrazzo style large format tile and resprayed the cream door fronts in Farrow & Ball Light Blue - the perfect tone against the beautiful warm wood tones of the lower cabinetry.
An entire new kitchen is not always the answer! Get in touch if you’re interested in chatting about the options available for your own kitchen - and be prepared to fall in love with it all over again (or for the first time ever!) 🫣🩵
Currently taking on new small project bookings from October 🍂

Week 2 photo dump! Mainly exploring around Southern Tuscany, but a little of Umbria too - Spello, Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, our (very underrated &
beautiful) local town of Citta della Pieve & of course plenty of gelato & pool time to help cool us down. We tended to stay local in the mornings, then headed out to explore once the heat cooled a little late afternoon. Heading back home today - please feel free to ask any questions if you want to know more about where we stayed, ate, visited etc!

A recent paint and decorative consultancy job I’ve had the pleasure of working on in South Belfast. My client’s beautiful Victorian home was in need of a decorative refresh after a year of structural and restorative works.
Working with existing furnishings, artwork and some soft furnishings, we updated paint colours, wall coverings, bathrooms and new flooring throughout to bring a more aesthetically cohesive and elegant feel to this grand property. The previously grey and taupe walls had worked 10 or 15 years ago, but this home was crying out for more colour, albeit soft and subtle, to add interest and depth.
Loved working on this ❤️

Week one exploring southern Tuscany & Umbria - photo dump 📸
Local town trips, Florence, Perugia, Pienza, Val d’Orcia. We have learned to stay pool side during the day with shady lunch, then venture out for some sightseeing late afternoon & evening. It’s been meltingly hot so it’s the only way and it works well for us

I spent 4 days in NYC last week and wanted to share a few things that might be useful if you’re planning a trip there - first up, pack comfortable shoes!! You will clock up 20k steps easily each day… oh and maybe don’t go during a heat wave 🥵

🇺🇸 I was based in the midtown area but the city is so accessible with public transport links you can really locate yourself anywhere on Manhattan island
🇺🇸 Walk the Highline, followed by a bagel at Chelsea Market, then hire bikes to cycle downtown to see financial district and of course 9/11 memorial site & World Trade Center
🇺🇸 West Village and Soho great for smaller independent stores & cafes. If you’re a Friends or SATC fan, you will recognise a few sights here! Stop for a slice in Bleeker St Pizzeria and don’t forget to visit the famous Bigelow pharmacy for its beautiful old world interior (apparently a favourite of Carolyn Bessette…)
🇺🇸 Central Park is a must see of course…
🇺🇸 Some guides advise against going up the Empire State as your view won’t then include the iconic tower… but there’s just something so special about it! Go late in the day when it’s less crowded and see the city with its twinkling lights ✨
🇺🇸 Stop at Times Square to experience it for 5 mins… then move on!
🇺🇸 Take the subway from Grand Central to Chinatown & Little Italy - stop for espresso and a cannoli at Ferrara bakery or queue for a slice at the famous l’Industrie… then hop across the street to Chinatown to sample delicious dumplings - your tastebuds will thank you ☺️
🇺🇸 Don’t forget a trip over to Brooklyn - get the subway there, stroll around the shops and grab a drink, then walk back over Brooklyn bridge at sunset for the best view of Manhattan skyline 🏙️
🇺🇸 The museum of modern art (MOMA) is fantastic and well worth a visit, then you can wander down to Bryant Park, visit the NY public library and enjoy some shopping nearby. I mostly bought clothes for the teens as certain brands are cheaper there, but you’ll see on the last slide I picked up some goodies for myself too!

It’s definitely a city for the bucket list!! Feel free to dm me if you’ve any questions x

As February arrives, can we tentatively start looking forward to Spring? It’s the perfect season for new beginnings, so perhaps time to tackle those interior projects you’ve been putting off.
Did you know I offer a two hour consultation package? Designed to help you make those tricky decisions which allow you to move on with a project, it avoids the overwhelm, decision fatigue and over-analysing you will inevitably face.
We can meet in your home, on site, over video call or in your local coffee shop - mine’s a flat white 😉
Following the meeting I send you a summary of what we covered, plus links to products and suppliers where relevant. And if you feel you need further help? You simply bolt on additional hourly consultancy time with me.
It’s the perfect service to tackle whatever’s causing you angst - tile choices, room layouts, kitchen finishes, flooring… I’ve even been called in to settle partner disputes 🫣 With one off consultations, I aim to fit your appointment in within 2 weeks, so simply get in touch via the link in my profile or drop me an email.

Hello and Happy New Year! Have we all survived the first week back? I actually love January… it feels like a good time to reset and refresh. The Christmas decs are packed away and our homes are ready for a breath of fresh air.
Whilst I’m looking forward to new and exciting projects ahead in 2026, I love to reflect on the year just passed. These pics were kindly sent to me by lovely clients I worked with early last year on a remote basis. They had recently moved into a new build home that was crying out for some love! I helped them update the main kitchen and living space to feel more cosy and considered, with new lighting, window dressings, paint and a furnishings refresh. I think you’ll agree it’s looking a lot more like a home now.
If you’re wanting to refresh a room or indeed a few rooms in your own home this year, now is the time to get in touch. I offer in person and remote consultations, so can work with clients right across the UK and Ireland… or further afield! Just drop me an email to [email protected] or follow the link in my profile to get in touch!

Finally got around to taking a few snaps of the new bathroom! Kept saying I will do it someday, but let’s face it, it won’t stay this tidy for long…

Just need some framed art on the back wall, towel radiator plumbed in and blinds to soften the ugly windows… all in time!

It’s turned out exactly as I envisaged it - that’s where careful planning wins 🙌🏼

Any questions about anything you see, please feel free to ask below!

Lovely words from a lovely client, proving that despite living at separate ends of the UK, we can work together to create beautiful, joyful spaces!

I genuinely feel very lucky to work with the people who chose me as their designer or decorative consultant - I feel like you’re all part of the Dekkobird family ✨

Currently taking bookings for new projects for February/March and also have some slots left for video consultations this month (see stories!) and for one off consultations in the New Year. Please get in touch via DM or link in profile! Thank you 🙏🏻
