Isager Merilin has been my current obsession — 80% wool and 20% linen, which means you get that beautiful wool softness with just a touch of cool, crisp linen drape. The 3-ply structure gives brilliant stitch definition too, so it's perfect for tees and shawls, or anything light and breathable you want to wear all summer.

The colourways we have in right now are just stunning, and it's one of those yarns that makes you want to cast on the moment you squish it.

She is done, and I am delighted. 🎉

I finished the Franny Granny Square Sweater by Hannah Cross, made up in Rosarios 4 Atlantico, and it's honestly one of my favourite makes in a while. The fit is exactly what I imagined, and the way the colours came together just made my heart happy.

Stitch & Stash is back on Thursday 11 June, 6–8:30pm — and this one is extra special because it falls right in the middle of our High Five, Hanks is Turning Five! birthday celebrations.

If you've never been before, here's what to expect: a warm atmostphere, good tea, better biscuits, and a table full of makers at every stage of their craft.

It's free to come. You can RSVP or just drop in on the night. Bring whatever you're working on, or come empty-handed and have a browse while the needles click around you.

Five years of Stitch & Stash nights have given me some of my favourite memories of this shop. I'd love for you to be part of this one.

Five years. I still can't quite believe it. 🎉

In 2021, I opened the door to Hanks Yarn Parlour with a head full of hope, a shop full of beautiful yarn, and absolutely no idea what was coming. What came was you — the makers, the beginners, the regulars, the tourists who found us by accident and left with arms full of skeins. You made this place what it is, and I am so genuinely grateful.

Ok, maybe a little sassy 😼, but that quote resonated with me. For me, it's not finished until it's blocked. People always comment on my knitted samples in the shop, how they look so even - it does not come off the needles like that.

Dont be intimidated by blocking. It's really simple, and really does give your natural fibre projects a polished look.
