Six months ago, we booked our first tradeshow.

Since then, it’s all I eat, sleep, drink, breathe. Some nights I can’t even sleep, because my head is already on the stand.

I don’t know what I’m doing yet. Nerves and excitement, tied together.

But I know I want to be there. Maybe it’s the first of many.

If you’ve done a first show, what do you wish you’d known?

Quiet growth is still growth.

2,500 homes now have a piece of A Touch of India.

Thank you for every single one.

What’s a quiet sign that told you to keep going?

If you’re invited to a new home, bring something that has a life beyond that evening.

Yes, flowers are lovely.

A box of really good chocolates? Always welcome.

But ask yourself: will they remember who brought them six months from now?

My blanket rule for housewarming gifts:

DO NOT BUY SOMETHING THEY CAN TOO.

If they can walk into the same department store and pick it up themselves on the way home, you’ve missed an opportunity.

Instead, look for something they wouldn’t necessarily find themselves.

Something handcrafted. Something with a story. Something they’ll actually use long after the last guest has left.

A tray that becomes part of their morning coffee ritual.

A beautiful bowl that ends up living on their kitchen counter.

A piece that makes them think of the person who gave it to them every time they use it.

Because a new home isn’t just an excuse to bring a gift.

It’s an opportunity to give them the first little piece of a home they’ll build memories in.

And honestly, I’d much rather give something they’ll still be using years from now than something they’ll forget by next Tuesday.

What’s your go-to housewarming gift?

I live in two time zones.

My day starts on UK time. India’s already four and a half hours in.

Which means before I’ve even opened my eyes properly, my WhatsApp is already flooded. Workshops. My courier. My packaging guy. Some asking for approvals. Some telling me what’s gone wrong overnight.

That’s just what mornings look like for me now.

But I don’t look at any of it first.

I call my mum.

Not negotiable. Somewhere along the way it became more important than breakfast. I genuinely cannot start my day without hearing her voice first. I guess distance really does make the heart grow fonder.

Only after that do I let myself open everything else. Brace, and go through it one by one.

I’ve gotten better at this, these past few months.

The rush usually dies down by midday. That’s when I actually sit at my laptop and work.

Evenings are where it gets funny though. Around 5, 6pm, I’ll remember something small. A question. A follow-up. I’ll think — I’ll just send this now, they’ll reply in the morning.

And then the reply comes back. Right away.

And I catch myself thinking — no, please. Don’t reply right now. Do your thing, take some family time! Tell me tomorrow.

Two time zones, one business, and I still haven’t figured out how to fully switch off in either one.

Even better, throw in a US order in the mix and I’m replying to texts with one open eye tucked in my bed.

Anyone else running life across two clocks — how do you know when it’s actually time to stop checking?

This particular trinket box has travelled all over the globe — and I cannot tell you how happy it makes us to think of each one sitting in a different home, holding someone’s most-loved pieces.

More than a trinket box. It’s one of those pieces that quietly becomes part of everyday life.

It also happens to make a very good gift. The kind that looks special when you give it, but actually gets used long after the wrapping paper is gone.

Keep your everyday jewellery in it. Your watches. The pieces you reach for every morning and take off at the end of the day.

And because we know how many of you have been waiting for it…

It’s coming back in a very limited quantity.

If you’ve had your eye on one, DM us to pre-order and secure yours before this batch is gone.

New this month. Countless pieces. One very impatient founder.

A set of hand-block printed placemats, a mangowood platter with two elephants facing each other across a painted palace, a hand-painted ceramic spoon rest, antique gold napkin rings, a hand-painted wall panel straight from Jodhpur, and a little trinket dish that’s already fighting for space on my own bedside table. Some took three attempts to get right. None of them are mass-produced. Swipe through — and stick around for how you can see next month’s drop before anyone else does.

There’s no quiet season at A Touch of India. Something is always being sketched, sourced, sampled, or sent back to an artisan with a note that says “almost — try again.”

The restlessness is the point. A brand that stops designing is a brand that’s stopped listening to what a home actually needs.

Hand-block printed by artisans who’ve been doing this longer than the technique’s had a name for it in the West. Quilted for warmth, scalloped at the edge because straight lines felt like a missed opportunity. 100% cotton, 32cm — the table setting that makes the rest of your styling almost unnecessary.

Deep blue and white, oblong, made for the things you touch every single day — keys, rings, the loose change you never know what to do with.

Ivory and gold, an elephant mid-stride through a painted palace scene. Small enough for a nightstand, detailed enough that it never reads as filler — the piece guests pick up without meaning to.

A set of six. Long-lasting plating that won’t dull after one wash. The kind of detail that goes unnoticed until it’s missing.

The unglamorous hero of the kitchen counter. Hand-painted, one brushstroke at a time, truly unique, but just as useful as gorgeous.

Gold on cream, gold on blue, painted by hand and small enough to live almost anywhere in your home — a shelf, a console, a windowsill that’s been looking a little empty.

Two elephants facing each other, gold outlines that shift with the light depending on where you’re standing. Sustainable mango wood, made to act

You asked, We answered.
For months I’ve been screenshotting your DMs. Questions about gifting, shipping, restocks, wholesale, and the ones that make me pause — “is this your real job?”

I put the most-asked ones in one place. No PR answers. Just honest ones from my kitchen table in Northern Ireland to wherever you are. Swipe.

And well of course the most personal question is in the end! I bet you cannot wait to know what it is!

Yes, and I love doing them.
Whether it’s 25 party favours, 100 wedding welcome gifts, or corporate boxes that don’t look corporate — we do it.
Because everything is handmade in small batches, I need a little lead time. 4-6 weeks is ideal, 2-3 weeks I can usually make work if you’re flexible on design.
Tell me your budget, event date, and vibe and I’ll curate 2-3 options for you. DM me “PARTY” and I’ll send the menu.

Yes — from Newtownards to the world.
UK = Free shipping, always. 3-5 working days for in-stock pieces.
US, Canada, Australia, Spain, Sweden, Italy— we ship to all of them weekly. Rates are calculated at checkout, and yes, I pack every international order myself so it arrives intact.
If your country isn’t showing at checkout, DM me. I’ll sort it manually (oh yes! AI could but then we won’t get talk)

The honest answer: Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and that’s the beauty and frustration of handmade.
If a piece sold well and the artisan has capacity, I will absolutely restock it. But if the glaze didn’t work that season, or the artisan is busy with harvest, I won’t compromise and get it made elsewhere.
If you loved something that’s gone, DM me the name. I’ll put you on the priority waitlist and you’ll hear before Instagram does. And please turn on post notifications — restock stories go in 24 hours.

This one is for my fellow shop owners.
If you’re tired of stocking the same mass-produced “boho” decor as everyone else on Faire, let’s talk.
I work with curated boutiques, concept stores and gift shops with low MOQs, strong margins, and actual storytelling you can use on your shop floor.
Your customers aren’t just buying a brass urli, they’re buying the family in Moradabad who made it. DM “WHOLESALE” for the line sheet and tra

Are you someone who thinks a cosy home is about what you buy?

Here’s the truth, it isn’t just about what you buy. It is about how you layer it, put it together.

The warmest homes I’ve ever walked into had almost nothing in common — different budgets, different sizes, different styles. But every single one had these five things. Not five furniture pieces. Not five expensive upgrades. Five decisions.

The kind that cost almost nothing to make but completely change how a room feels the moment you step into it.

I’ve been sourcing for homes for years, and I still come back to this list every time a space feels off. Something’s always missing — and it’s almost always one of these five.

Save this. You’ll want it next time a room in your home feels almost right but not quite.

17/06/2026

The truth is, it started because I was trying to make a house feel like home.

After we moved into our home in the UK, I found myself searching for pieces that felt personal. Everywhere I looked, I found beautiful things, but so much of it felt the same. White. Beige. Natural tones. Perfectly styled spaces that somehow felt like they could belong to anyone.

I was looking for personality.
For stories.
For pieces that made a home feel lived in and loved.

That search brought me back to uni days when I studied design, when I became fascinated by the uniqueness of Indian crafts. And I clearly remember being baffled about how little the rest of the world knew about them.

Even today, in a world connected by social media and the internet, there are extraordinary crafts being practised in small towns and villages across India that most people have never seen.

So I began designing & sourcing pieces for our own home.

Not for a business.
Not to sell.

Just for us.

Soon after we were done setting up with the bare minimum, a close friend came over for tea.

For nearly two hours, he looked around our home and kept saying the same thing:

“Why aren’t you doing this for other people?”

“People need this.”

“You have a knack for finding things that nobody else is finding.”

At almost the same time, my dad—an entrepreneur himself and someone who’s never been afraid to take the road less travelled—said something similar.

“You should do this.”

I wasn’t convinced.

I had doubts.
My husband had doubts.
I certainly wasn’t ready to pour my savings into a business idea.

So I didn’t.

Instead, I did something very small.

I photographed a few of the pieces I’d developed with artisans for our own home and listed them on Etsy.

That’s it.

No grand launch.
No business plan.
No expectations.

The response was immediate.

And before I knew it, what started as a search for pieces that made our home feel more like us had become A Touch of India.

Three years later, I’m still doing the same thing.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We are just getting started.

Packed orders this week — and honestly, even 2 years & thousands of orders later, the anxiety doesn’t really go away.

Every time I’m sealing a box with something new in it, there’s this quiet voice that goes — will they like it? Will it land the way I hoped? Three years of doing this and that voice is still there. I’ve just learned to pack through it (with a podcast in the background, these days I’m listening to Mel Robbins)

The Kraft paper goes down first. Then the piece, wrapped like it is a gift— because it is, from our artisans to you! Then the wee cloth tape my mum cuts and sews by hand. And then there are layers of bubble wrap. It all takes time I probably don’t have, and I do it anyway.

I think about who’s on the other end a lot. The person who ordered at midnight because they finally found the thing they’d been looking for. Yea late night orders are a thing! And there is no sweeter way to wake up to those notifications!

That’s who I’m packing for. Every time.

New pieces went out this week — some for the first time. Fingers crossed.

Please note, many of our products are limited editions, made in small quantities. That is the whole point of rare!
