Fourteen George Design was born from a combination of the passion for creating and the support of loved ones. From drawing and painting to printmaking, quilling,and pyrography, we're always on the lookout for new techniques to bring our designs to fruition. One of my goals this year is updating all of the Birth Month Flower prints to a larger size and get some new photographs. Throughout the year, I’ll be photographing the new prints with their real flowers as they come in season. These primroses have been a welcome splash of color in our rainy garden!

One of my goals this year is updating all of the Birth Month Flower prints to a larger size and get some new photographs. Throughout the year, I’ll be photographing the new prints with their real flowers as they come in season. These snowdrops came straight from our garden, the first sign of spring!

And just like that, there was “Frederick the Fare”. This piece is inspired by the little fieldfare that likes to follow me around while I’m gardening to see what bugs my digging uncovers. He’s the only bird that isn’t afraid to come near us so I’ve grown accustomed to keeping an eye out for him when I go outside and leaving him a few extra seeds.

First rule of lino: don’t carve unless you’re absolutely certain! You can always cut more but you can’t put it back. I’m not thrilled with the test print and so annoyed that I carved away the outline of the rose before testing. I’m trying to salvage the piece now by gluing a thin strip to the outline and seeing how it looks. Knowing how fragile the resulting block will be, I’ve glued the whole thing to a spare bit of perspex. Fingers crossed for a good outcome!
