After my big spring clean in the studio it's lovely to be back on the wheel making pots again!
The website is pretty low on stock at the moment but I've temporarily opened it up to pre orders so I know what to stock up first!

It's that time of year again!

Spring clean is happening in the studio and I have lots of lovely pieces that are waiting for a new home.

I'm often asked why I do seconds sales as some makers decide not to. I've worked as a potter selling work to shops for 16 years and they essentially order from a catalogue and (within reason as I'm not a machine!) they expect the work I send to be as like those sample pieces as possible.

So I do have work that doesn't get sent out in those orders because they differ in shape a bit too much, a little too tall or the handle is a little too large and then there's glaze mishaps, too think or too thin. It's like Goldilocks for potters!

The work is all safe to use they just have a little quirk or two!

Join me Easter weekend at the studio to find something special

New work typically starts in January after the crazy Christmas season but this time I began back in December!

Thanks to a new mentoring fund from .ni and I was incredibly privileged to spend a week with

Richard was incredibly generous with his time and expertise (he runs courses in a beautiful spot in Cornwall that I highly recommend you go to!)

I spent the week practicing new techniques for making bigger pots as well as decorative techniques using slips and paper resists. The decoration I initially struggled with as my work has been very simple for the last few years but it was a brilliant way to kickstart that side of my brain again.

February will be spent getting caught up with the teaching studio (January was busy for other reasons 🥂!) as well as setting up my own studio for a new phase of my work!

As cold as the old mill can be in the winter the light in the early evening is amazing, the cold toes are nearly worth it!

I'm making the last of the mugs of 2025 and I'm already thinking of what I would like to make in the new year.

Thank you for the lovely image!!

Something new from the studio, this colour is available in a straight sided version as well as our classic shape.

Personally I love the smaller one as a coffee cup and the classic is perfect for a hot cup of tea!

The glaze is a soft satin cream with a layered dusty green glaze at the base, feels beautiful in the hand, soon to be your favourite daily coffee cup.
