Once upon a time, a self confessed bibliophile was excited when they discovered candles that claimed to bring their favourite books to life though the power of scent. They excitedly unwrapped the packaging and lit the candles, waiting with bated breath to be transported to Pemberley or Narnia or Middle Earth...but they were disappointed. They were smoky, sooty and not all what they expected. Being

an inventive sort, they thought they could do better! They used the best quality soy wax, which was vegan and environmentally friendly as well as practically smokeless. They filled the candles to the brim with high quality fragrance oils and packaged them with labels that evoked the fantastic characters and places they loved. The result was high quality candles that took them far and away into their favourite books, and they're ready to share them with you all. So The Reading Room Candle Co. was born...

This is it. The final FINAL goodbye sale 🕯️⁣

We are now down to the very, very last of our Reading Room Candle Co. stock left from last week’s closing day, and once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.⁣

I’ve had so many messages about any last items, so I’ve counted up absolutely everything I have and they’ll be live at 𝟳𝗣𝗠 𝗚𝗠𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧⁣

It feels impossible to sum up what the last few years have meant. Every order, every kind message, every event, every familiar name popping up again and again , you’ve made this little candle business something I’ll always be proud of.⁣

This weekend we’ll be attending Q-Con Belfast, and it will be our final ever event before Reading Room Candle Co. closes at the end of June.⁣
⁣
We’ll have lots of candles, big hugs, and our final stock available, so if you’ve been meaning to visit us one last time, now’s your chance.⁣
⁣
The retail shop will be closed this weekend while we attend, but we’ll have one last goodbye party on Sat 27th, which I’ll tell you more about very soon!⁣

After seven years of markets, conventions, book fairs and wonderful customers, we’d love to see some familiar faces and celebrate this final chapter together.⁣

After 8 incredible years, Reading Room Candle Co. will be closing on 30th June 2026.⁣

This is not a decision I’ve made lightly, but following a lot of change in our family and mum’s retirement, it’s time to close the doors on what has been an unforgettable experience.⁣
⁣
To every customer who supported this little business over the years, thank you. Whether you placed an order, visited us at an event, shared our posts, left a review or simply cheered us on from afar, you helped make this dream possible.⁣
⁣
Our final sale is now live, including remaining collections and ready-to-ship subscription boxes while stocks last.⁣
⁣
Important information:⁣
• Any deposits paid for future boxes, pre-orders or releases that will no longer be fulfilled will be refunded automatically or can be redeemed against any forthcoming orders.⁣
• Any orders awaiting collection must be collected before 30th June.⁣

Hey friends, I’m really sorry I’ve been away and a bit rubbish getting back to messages for the last couple of weeks.⁣
⁣
Unfortunately my little man Poe was suddenly diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) when he lost movement from his waist down and had to undergo emergency surgery to try to restore the paralysis in his back legs.⁣
⁣
Sadly this is common in the dachshund breed but is a serious life-altering condition which will take lots of physio and care to live with.⁣
⁣
As you can see, he’s been making amazing progress and the movement is slowly but surely coming back into his legs thanks to the wonderful care of and their amazing surgical, nursing and recovery teams…really I don’t know where we would be without you ❤️⁣
⁣
Honestly after losing Padme in December, this has been incredibly emotional and stressful time worrying he might not be ok, and I really needed to take a break from socials etc while getting him the support he needs.⁣
⁣
If I haven’t gotten back to you, please know it was not intentional, I just had really bad burn out, and would love for you to reach out again and I’ll be happy to help.⁣
⁣
Thanks everyone for your understanding, and please keep Poe in your thoughts while he recovers over the next 8 weeks ❤️❤️❤️⁣
