Robin Swift Art

Robin Swift Art Robin Swift Art comprises two people. The artist (Robin) and the store manager (their fiancée Claire). That evening something magical happened, we got engaged!

Our inspiration comes from nature and traditional handicrafts. In July 2019 we were on holiday in and around Aberystwyth in Wales. We had a perfect day watching hundreds of red kites being fed at a local wildlife sanctuary and watching the swallows nesting in the eaves of our holiday cottages. We had so much excited energy we started bouncing wedding ideas around while Robin was making paintings i

nspired by my RSPB bird book. Suddenly an idea was thrown out that we should assign each wedding guest a different bird, which would be used on their invite, place name and favour. We joked that Robin would paint 100 birds...but then decided it wasn't a joke! We love where this project and our other crafts are taking us and want to share them. At first we gifted the originals to friends and family, after a few months it even became necessary to start finding new owners. Eventually you're faced with mounds of hidden pictures in files and boxes so we are taking scans of everything for our wedding stationery and most of the original artworks are now available to purchase or have already flown the nest. Many paintings aren't listed on the shop but are still available. See our instagram account to see more. We can also take requests for new artwork so the possibilities are endless and we'd love to hear from you.

Trying out some new fineliners I bought from a new art/gift shop in Belper ( ). Recently, beavers have been reintroduced to Derbyshire so I was drawing these while we had them on the TV.

I've always loved trees, I'm not sure what artist got me into them. trees are really inspiring and trying to find who my inspiration probably was is revealing so many artists I admire. I'll do another of this place focussing on that.
