I was shopping for a new table runner but couldn’t find any I liked online or in the shops. It struck me that it would be easy enough to buy fabric I liked and make one myself. There was just one problem... I didn't own a sewing machine and hadn't used one since my high school days! Beginner sewing machines are amazing value for money, but to justify the purchase I needed to make other items so I decided to try cushion making too. Over the next few months I got stuck into YouTube videos and caught the sewing bug! December 2019

Happy with my Christmas table runner, I decided to take the brave step (for me!) of making a few more to sell at my kids' school Christmas fairs. They sold really well and excited by this, I decided to set up an Etsy shop in December 2019. Early Days on Etsy

My first few months on Etsy coincided with the beginning of the pandemic so I turned my hand to face masks and spent most of 2020 sewing and selling those. This enabled me to build my reputation and launch a full table runner range for Christmas 2020 before branching out into draught excluders (now my best selling product), fabric doorstops and much more. I have now made well over 4,800 sales on Etsy and have received over 800 5 Star reviews. Each and every item is sewn as if it's my first. I'm a perfectionist and will reject anything I don't consider to be of excellent quality. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find something that catches your eye! I’ve seen + heard a couple of news items about this recently. Dunelm (and other big names) have issued an urgent recall for some of their novelty fabric doorstops due to traces of asbestos being found. I mean how bad is that? I presume these products, like most of their other homeware, are mass produced in China.

Both my doorstops and draft excluders are filled with kiln dried sand from our local Travis Perkins. Every few weeks (more often in winter!) I drive down and fill up the car with several bags. They’re permanently stacked up in our utility room, which isn’t very aesthetically pleasing 🤣 but at least it means I don’t run out.

👉 Do your doors slam shut and rattle?

This clever little wedge fixes that problem as it allows the door to be held in place just shy of the frame. The door is very nearly shut but doesn’t rattle as it’s not within the frame.

It will also work in the same way as a traditional doorstop during the day, holding the door ajar in it’s required position, and unlike wooden or rubber doorstops, it can remain in place while being opened and closed so doesn’t need constant removal and repositioning.

Unfortunately any slight breeze means the doors slam shut and rattle in the frame. This clever little wedge has solved that problem as it enables the door to be held in place just shy of the frame.
