I’m not doing much sewing for my business at the moment as there’s a lot going on at home, but I had lots of fun yesterday sewing myself a new peg bag. A totally over-engineered, quilted, lined “Swedish peg bag” using a pattern I found on the internet. I even sewed cotton tape on the inside to hide the joins between the two sides of the bag. It was finished with a bag clip so no more blowing off the line. A bit OTT, but I love it.

And it’s World Book Day! Did I get the jumpsuit finished…?! Yes I did!!

Inspired by the character of Stanley Yelnats from “Holes”, I made my son the Indigo jumpsuit. With a few omissions as I made this in a day and a half in between everything else.

We ditched the top pockets, and I had to give up with the proper collar. Anyone got any expert tips on how to sew a collar with a stand, please DM me. I also changed the cuffs to save time and added velcro instead of sewing buttons.

Other than that, I sewed an age 14 length/wise, and aged 12 width/wise and followed the pattern. I added a bit of top-stitching around the shoulders, cuffs and ankles. I was most proud of the pockets on the trousers - and the overall look. It turned out just right.

If I’d been able to sew like this when we lived in London, I would have made one for all of my kids when they were younger. Perfect for spotting them a mile away in the playground!!

Overall, one very happy customer.

“Gorgeously warm” is how this customer described her organic cotton fleece snood from Huis Homewares. And we think she looks fabulous on the slopes in her coordinating snood and ski jacket! The snoods are online now (link in bio); ready to ship and wear to keep you gorgeously warm as well.

Kung Hei Fat Choi! The year of the Fire Horse starts today. Some of the kids in my Crafty Club had a go at making their own fire horses last week, in honour of the celebration. Aren’t they fun? One little girl named hers Buttercup, took it home and made it a stable to live in.

In Crafty Club this week, we carried on with our theme of winter. On the table were watercolour backgrounds and hand drawn polar bears (plus one seal - and a dinosaur!). I love the character each child captured in their drawing, and the different colours they used for the paintings. We had lots of fun at this week.

Ever wondered what to do with all your child’s sports badges? Look no further. Based on a custom order design I’ve made for a client, our badge pennants are now available to order on my website. You let me know what colour you want, I source the fabric and sew it up into a pennant for you. Each comes complete with the dowling and cotton tape for easy hanging. All you need to do is attach the badges and hang the pennant in pride of place. #
