It’s beginning to look more and more like Christmas at Belmont and I am very glad that I finally managed to sew stockings for all of us as I had been planning to do this for a long time. It was a great chance to use some leftover fabrics and I had great fun making them. It makes me happy to see them on the mantelpiece, but they will soon disappear again to then magically reappear on Christmas Day… hopefully filled with lovely surprises! Don’t they look pretty 🤗?!

Story watchers might have seen that I went to my first ever Christmas wreath making on Wednesday. My four friends and I had pre booked the workshop and we had such a great time! All our doors are now looking very festive and it was amazing to see how wonderfully different all the wreaths turned out - each one just as unique and beautiful in their very own way as their creators 🥰! The older I get the more I LOVE that about life! You will always be you - so you might as well embrace and enjoy it 🤗!!! Yesterday was my lucky day - I turned 49 years old… and had a very happy day, spending the morning in beautiful Bamburgh with a friend and being spoilt by family and friends with many well wishes and lots of lovely presents. Somehow flowers and chocolate are most essential for me to feel like a proper birthday girl and I got plenty of both, so that went very well 😅! So far I actually enjoy getting older and am not intimidated by numbers going up (what’s the alternative really 🙃?!). I have always liked and embraced change and try to make the best out of whatever comes my way… and although there have been tough times I have mostly been very lucky and am so grateful and thankful to be wandering this beautiful earth and to be given the opportunity to rise and shine every single new day. What a blessing that is!!!! Wishing you lots of opportunities to feel happy and blessed as well… yesterday’s birthday girl sends her love 🥂🎂💕

I just LOVE a mixed platter… and as five out of six family members are currently here at Belmont to celebrate Easter together that’s what we are having for dinner tonight… can’t wait to get started 🤤!!!!

Happy birthday my darling girl 💗!!! On Sunday we celebrated the 15th birthday of our daughter and I am so proud of the beautiful woman she has become - inside and out. On Saturday night she celebrated with her friends, first making pizza here in the kitchen at Belmont and then sharing her birthday cake with them and they had a great time celebrating together 🥂🎉. On Sunday the weather was glorious and we treated her (and us!!!) to a gorgeous afternoon tea … (hop to my stories later to see some pics)… it was DELICIOUS 🍰 and we had a fabulous day out!!! We still have lots of cake and goodies left to enjoy - so I’m making myself a cuppa now 😅… wishing you all a happy day 🙋🏻‍♀️!

Happy Saturday lovelies! We are enjoying a quiet weekend at Belmont and had the most gorgeous weather lately… but today it’s wonderfully miserable… a great excuse to snuggle up on the sofa with a good book and a cuppa! So cheerio my dears… stay cosy!

Happy New Year everyone 💗! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you lots of happiness for the year ahead ✨💕💫

As you can see the smallest tree of all has actually made it into our living room in Germany and we had a really lovely time seeing family and friends. Today hubby and I went into Düsseldorf to collect our new visas and tomorrow we will all be packing so that we can travel back to our beloved UK on Sunday 🇬🇧. If you would like to get a glimpse of our German home at Christmas time (only slightly decorated by my standards due to lack of time 🙃) hop over to my stories as I will be sharing some pics and videos there. We have had the most wonderful run up to Christmas at Belmont… (sorry for not sharing more posts regularly… at least here are now some random pic’s from the last weeks… ). There was lots of bakery and festive events and yesterday we spent the day in beautifully decorated Edinburgh… so that I am in a jolly good mood and look forward to seeing family and friends in Germany over the holidays. The smallest tree of all (pic 1) is just now travelling to Germany with us… and I would like to use the time being crammed in the car to wish you all a very happy Christmas 🎄!!! Have a wonderful time and enjoy the festivities 🥂✨🕯️

Today I started decorating Belmont for Christmas 🎄! It was such a treat to be doing this for the first time here in our new UK home and I look forward to adding more bits and bobs in the upcoming days. Although we will be spending Christmas in Germany I am going to put up a small potted Christmas tree in the lounge and when driving home for Christmas we might actually take the little tree with us… if there is room in the car for it 😂….🎁👬🏻🐶👫🏻🎄!!! Do you still get a real Christmas tree or do you have an artificial one?

After two weeks of living at Belmont I’ve treated myself to the first shop bought fresh flowers today. Our kind neighbour gave me some rosemary stems over the weekend and I think it looks really lovely with the roses. The house is starting to come along rather nicely (see stories for bathroom lift up) and I can finally enjoy sitting down with a cuppa, which is what I am doing right now! Sweet “Belmont” is actually a very typical British “two up, two down” little cottage. Meaning it has a kitchen and a living room downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. For us that is actually TINY as we have four children, two of them have already”flown the nest”, but two are here in the UK with me and I only actually went to view the house because I was hoping that the included outhouse might be usable as a third bedroom. Luckily it turned out that, yes! The outhouse is brilliant for that purpose! … and that is why we put in an offer the sellers couldn’t refuse and were ever so happy when it was accepted! Because “Belmont”… is just SO adorable… a sweet little home that hugs you the second you walk in! Would you like me to share the pictures that were included in the estate agent’s brochure with you?
