The most divine project by , entitled “Lowcountry Charm.”

Welcoming, easy, lived in… charming. Beyond that are the most beautiful details which can be seen in these images. Textures, colours, lightness, depth…. and a strong sense of personality.

I never like writing too much about interiors I post, mainly because you’ll likely find something within which resonates with you, as opposed to me telling you what to look at. I hope these images beautifully transport you to where you need to be.

Enjoy

Sun Rooms.

Who wouldn’t want one? They are typically glazed rooms with a solid ceiling, they are neither an orangery nor a porch but offer something in between. I am a huge fan because a) what would you possibly even need a porch for in England anyways and b) I can’t bear roof lanterns any more because they nearly always leak.
Perfect for coffee, informal lounging or even casual dining. Americans have them down to a T. The most chic sun room I know being , designed by . They look wonderful filled with wicker furniture, sea grass rugs, a little chintz, some stripes, a fabulous lantern and you’re done!

Give me a beamed ceiling any day.

Traditional, painted, tongue and groove, natural oak, pine, contrasting…. they change the room.
I love all these examples, they add interest, character, depth but most of all, add some soul.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. We were not meant to live in a white box!

I am in love with Brandon Schubert’s interiors right now…. the colours are divine. They have personality, are never obvious and seem so right whether he is designing a London townhouse or a country cottage. Very cool, modern and still somehow a little traditional. Love. Love. Love.

Continuity is so important. Transitions act as visual bridges between spaces, making them feel both independent yet connected. Openings with no architectural elements, especially like those in new homes, make the space feel empty and unfinished. These examples show beautifully how to incorporate elements around openings. You could opt for delft, marble, a gorgeous arch or even simple, painted woodwork.

Enjoy!

Colourful woodwork is nothing new but HOW do you integrate it into your home? Perhaps you like the idea in theory and want to add a pop of colour to your interior…. But realistically, where do you start?

Here are some achievable looks which don’t require a complete renovation but just a tin or 2 of paint.

1) have chosen contrasting cornice and ceiling colours but the muted palette ensures it stays calm.
2) have used an inky blue inside the shelving which helps add depth and definition. A really easy and effective choice!
3)Tamsin Saunders of has matched the picture rail to the window. Again, so easy to achieve. It pulls the scheme together without committing to a lot of colour.
4) shows how coloured woodwork is so effective in transition spaces and especially when containing wallpaper. You might find it easier to be a braver in these spaces since you are only passing through!
5) The apple green windows offer a happy contrast to the buttery yellow cabinets beneath. The rest of the kitchen is relatively neutral. It is a good way to bring a pop without committing to brightly coloured cabinetry which would be serious investment.
6) offers an elegant way to add colour to the bathroom by painting the window and its reveal. Again, very effective without being overwhelming.

Save these if you’re looking for ways to add a little more colour without breaking the bank. ⬇️
