Katy & Ben’s floral moongate at Shustoke Barn 🌿

Filled with masses of foliage, soft whites and blush, touches of dried texture and lots of lovely wild movement.

Moongates are probably my favourite thing to create. There’s something pretty epic about walking into your ceremony and seeing a huge floral installation waiting for you.

And they work so beautifully at Shustoke. Against all that brickwork and those enormous beams, you can really go big with the flowers and they still feel completely at home in the space.

I always think the ceremony is a brilliant place to make a real statement with flowers. It’s the bit where you actually get married, so it deserves some drama!

Some behind the scenes, creative chaos from this colourful one 💕

Such a gorgeous colour palette, pinks, peach, lilac, raspberry and little pops of yellow, with lots of texture and movement.

Alongside the bouquets and buttonholes, I created floral arrangements for the ceremony which were then moved through to become table centres for the reception.
I always love finding ways for flowers to have more than one moment during the day.

A little look at Esther’s gorgeous late-summer wedding flowers 🧡

Esther and Adam had spent lots of time creating beautiful decorations for their day Weddings at Elmbridge Farm so they just needed me to add the finishing touches with their bouquets and buttonholes - the floral cherry on the cake! 🍒

I loved this colour palette. Soft pinks and peaches, deeper plum dahlias and pops of orange, including this fabulous new variety of cosmos which I’m slightly obsessed with!

Huge congratulations to you both and I hope you had the most wonderful day! 💐

Summer is beginning to fade into autumn 🍁

I hate to say it, but have you noticed the evenings getting slightly darker?

True story: I can't remember the last time I wore socks or dried my hair with a hairdryer, but the end of the heatwave is making it feel like autumn is quietly creeping up on us. I'm not ready. 😂

Although I do love Autumn... And i miss my learners and those back to school vibes. Maybe I should buy some brogues?

Vicky and Andre's beautiful wedding yesterday at The Old Library Digbeth was the first in a little run of weddings where my couples have asked for a touch of the autumn in their flowers 🍂

Think warm tones, golden grasses, berries, seed heads and lots of gorgeous texture - still full of colour, just with that first little hint of the season changing.

Did I catch your best side? 📸💐

The thing is, my bouquets aren't really designed to have one.

Okay… I’ll admit I always have a favourite angle 🤣

But when I design a bridal bouquet, I want it to look beautiful and interesting from every direction, rather than having one definite ‘front’.

I use flowers, foliage, texture, shape and movement throughout the whole bouquet, so whether you’re walking down the aisle, holding it at your side, chatting to guests or being photographed from an angle you weren’t expecting, there’s always something lovely to see.

And it means you don’t need to spend your wedding day wondering whether you’re holding your bouquet the right way round.

Because you’ve probably got enough to think about.

So yes, I might have spent five minutes taking selfies trying to find this bouquet’s best side…

I’m still not sure Becky's beautiful bouquet has one. 🤣🌸

Short and sweet time at European Flower School this year due to time and funds! I enjoyed just one wonderful and inspiring floral master class with Stefan Van Berlo

Hot in temperature. Hot in style. 🔥🌸

Katie and Jamie’s wedding at Pendrell Hall felt particularly special, as it’s where my husband and I got married too!

Walking back into those rooms with beautiful flowers brought back so many lovely memories.

Rather than beginning with a strict flower list, we talked about what they loved about the venue such as the Arts and Crafts details and their love of William Morris prints. That became the starting point for everything.

I created wild, colourful and slightly untamed arrangements filled with texture, movement and tiny details, including little wild strawberries tucked into Jamie’s buttonhole 🍓

Katie later told me that family members were popping into her dressing room on the morning of the wedding to tell her how beautiful the ceremony flowers looked, which was such a lovely thing to hear.

Their incredibly kind review said:

“From the wild, romantic feel of the arrangements to the tiny wild strawberries in my husband’s boutonniere, we felt that Ash met the brief entirely and beautifully.”

Thank you both for trusting me with such a gorgeous and personal celebration.

And a special mention for the fan. My wedding couples have been exceptionally hot this year, both in temperature and in style. 😂

"The most beautiful flowers we could have imagined."

This one made me cry 😭

A lovely conversation today with the team at A Natural Undertaking got me thinking about funeral flowers...

Of course, traditional tributes can be incredibly comforting and exactly right for many families.

But sometimes it's worth asking why? What if the flowers could tell more of a person's story?

I love being curious and thinking beyond convention, creating designs that reflect someone's personality, favourite places, colours or the changing seasons.

Today's design is a lovely example of that. Rather than a traditional single coffin spray, it was created from five individual arrangements that sat together on the coffin during the service. Afterwards, they could be taken apart and used as table decorations at the wake before each one was taken home by family and friends as a lasting reminder of someone they loved.

Sometimes a message says it all...

"The flowers were absolutely incredible. The colours were exactly what I'd imagined and couldn't have been more perfect.

Everything looked so beautiful, and we had so many compliments from our guests throughout the day.

The bud vases were gorgeous and made the tables look so elegant, and they looked stunning lining the aisle too. It all felt so romantic without ever being over the top, it was just perfect.

I honestly wouldn't have changed a single thing; it couldn't have been any better.
