Celebrating 10 years of Cassie, Gemma and Elite Design Studio by Cassie Heathcock & Gemma Merrick last night ✨

Two incredible power women who have built something special and such a lovely reminder of how special it is to have strong friendships, support and community within the industry.

So nice to have people around you who understand the juggle, the drive and the realities of running a business.

Here’s to women cheering each other on, always 🤍

Awards ✨A night with designer friends who feel like true supporters — no competition, just great company.

And yes… out again - but that’s the reality of building and running a business. Beautiful evening, but always a little bittersweet when it means missing bedtime snuggles.

When we present a design fee proposal, it can sometimes be seen as a huge cost. The immediate reaction is often: “We can do the interiors ourselves.” But the truth is, the cost is only one side of it. The real measure is value — what thoughtful design adds to a home.

The difference is clear:
Perceived cost = a fee line on a proposal.
Perceived value = a home that flows, feels welcoming, avoids costly mistakes, and elevates daily life.

There will always be cheaper options. But we focus on lasting value — thoughtful design that avoids costly mistakes and enhances daily life.

A few inspiring days in Italy last week with and 🇮🇹

We flew into Bologna and headed straight to the Florim showroom for a deep dive into their latest collections — a day spent exploring materials, textures, and design possibilities.

Day two took us behind the scenes for a factory tour, where we saw the scale, precision, and craftsmanship that go into every product. Trips like these are so important — they give us a real understanding of the quality behind the surfaces we specify, the technical innovation behind the beauty, and the endless possibilities for bespoke application. Plus a trip to the Museum.

We finished each day with great food, even better company, and a fabulous group of fellow interior designers. Day three was spent soaking up the atmosphere of Bologna — and already feeling creatively recharged.

Thank you and for the most inspiring trip!
