A letter to our much-valued Aga customers:
We would like to confirm that we are open for business and to also reassure you that we are strictly adhering to the government guidelines set out on gov.uk/coronavirus which are also outlined below.
The following has now been clarified by MHCLG (Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government) as follows:....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Work carried out in people’s homes, for example by tradespeople carrying out repairs and maintenance, can continue, provided that the tradesperson is well and has no symptoms.
Again, it will be important to ensure that Public Health England guidelines, including maintaining a 2 metre distance from any household occupants, are followed to ensure everyone’s safety.
No work should be carried out in any household which is isolating or where an individual is being shielded, unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household, such as emergency plumbing or repairs, and where the tradesperson is willing to do so. In such cases, Public Health England can provide advice to tradespeople and households.
No work should be carried out by a tradesperson who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently working on a lot of breakdowns, the weather is still chilly and most of our customers rely on their Aga for warmth as well as cooking and hot water for some, we intend to offer this help for as long as we are allowed.
We are also carrying out servicing and maintenance for anyone who asks for it – we are very careful to find out our customers status regarding COVID-19 in the process of making appointments.
Going forward we foresee that we will become extremely busy as the year progresses back into Autumn and so we would encourage you to book your Aga service with us as early as possible. Any future appointment that is made now can be rearranged or cancelled up to the day before. As always, please ensure your Aga is turned off 24 hours prior to the appointment. Small print - If we arrive to an appointment and be turned away or the Aga has not been turned off, we will usually charge a call out fee depending on time and distance travelled.
Furthermore, for any help or advice concerning your Aga, you can call our office 01279 832063, if Julie is not at her desk, please leave a message and she will call you back (usually the same day), if you need advice urgently, you can call Julie on 07788 140722.
We hope that the above reassures you that our primary concern is the wellbeing of our customers followed closely by a healthy Aga. We wish you good health and strength during this very difficult time.
Yours faithfully
Robin and Julie
