Something new from me… 🐑

I’ve been experimenting with adding woven wool textures into my embroidery designs and these little Herdwick sheep are starting to come together very sweetly already. The fluffy wool gives them cosy look and feels a bit different from my usual stitching.

Still testing ideas, but I thought they were too cute not to share.

Before the first stitch goes in.
There’s something quite nice about this stage too… deciding where to start and how it might turn out.

I like to make little things you can display in a room, to add a nice bit of colour.
They don’t need to be big projects, just small pieces you can prop on a shelf or hang on the wall, something simple that makes a space feel really personal.

I always think this stage is the nicest part.
Not finished, not perfect, just slowly coming together stitch by stitch.
It’s quite satisfying seeing it build like this without worrying too much about the end result.

Adding embroidery to clothes is much easier than it sounds.
You don’t need to draw anything, just start with a simple design and stitch straight over it.
Once you’ve tried it once, it opens up loads of ideas for things you already own.

I think this is why I like smaller projects so much.
You can pick them up for an hour, put them down, and slowly see something take shape without it feeling like a big commitment.
Perfect for evenings when you just want something easy to focus on.

If you’re new to embroidery, starting with a few simple stitches like this is such a nice way to begin.
You don’t need loads of tools or experience, just something small to get you going.
It’s much easier than it looks once you start.

This is the kind of project I always come back to when I want something calm and easy to stitch.
Nothing too complicated, just simple stitches coming together into something really pretty and colourful.
Sometimes that’s exactly what you need at the end of the day.
