One of the largest fireplace showrooms in the UK. Est 1988 The Canterbury Street Mill was built in 1865, when it employed 160 people.

With over 30 years of trading, Canterbury Fireplaces, offers you one of Lancashire's finest and largest purpose built showroom. The family run firm is one of the largest gas fire showrooms in the country with more than 100 gas and electric fires on constant display. It closed during World War Two and stopped operating completely in 1955. We began trading in the 1980's when Steve was just 26 redeve

loped the historic mill into a home for our fireplace firm "Canterbury Fireplaces", in Canterbury Street, Blackburn. We ran the business from a corner of the former Canterbury Mill, and now, 20 years on, own the entire site of the mill and have spent over £300,000 creating a state-of-the-art showroom. And, after two years of demolition and building we built a brand new showroom and offices for the business, and space for two units, we are now renting out our business units on the other part of the site. During our project, a historic cast iron arch was saved, original cobbles were kept at the entrance way, and some original brick features were kept in a boundary wall, along with an original lamppost.

It started with a husband, a wife, and a wagonload of stone.

Stephen and Jackie Everett opened Canterbury Fireplaces in 1988 on Canterbury Street in Blackburn. Their son Lucas grew up around the business, joined as an apprentice at 16, and took over in 2016.

The mill that now houses the showroom has been on Canterbury Street since 1865.

Stephen and Jackie bought it, restored it, and kept everything that made it special. The cobbles, the cast iron arch, the brickwork. All still there.

We have fitted fires for families across Lancashire for over three decades. That does not happen by accident.

It happens because the job matters to us. It always has.

Over 150 fires on display across 4,000 square feet. The same family behind every single one.
