Welcome to Off The Wick. This is a family run business that makes hand crafted soy candles and wax melts, soaps and organic whipped body butter and washes certified diploma in organic skin care. We only use the highest quality ingredients and soy wax that DO NOT contain toxins or pollutants or carcinogens unlike paraffin wax, making our candles a cleaner burn and safer for us and our pets too. Our handcrafted soaps are also hand poured here in Lancashire using only finest ingredients and essential oils. We have eco friendly packaging system from recycled cardboard and paper even down to our vegan ink compostable packaging and recycled jars and glasses too. Our bespoke scents will be available all year round incorporating seasonal limited editions. We look forward to you trying are beautiful hand crafted candles, soaps and much more to come.

Most mass-produced candles and wax melts are manufactured using paraffin wax, a byproduct of petroleum and harmful chemicals like phthalates (used to extend the scent of fragrance oils), which release carcinogenic compounds like benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, acrolein, etc. into the air when burned.

This toxic emission can cause serious health problems, including mutagenic effects for those that inhale it.

Soy wax is made from soybeans, while paraffin wax is made from petroleum (yes, the same petroleum used to make oil and gas). Discovered in 1850, paraffin wax is made by removing the waxy substance from crude oil. ... Not only is soy wax all natural, it’s also sustainable since we can grow more
soybeans.

We also have an eco friendly ethos. All our products are zero to landfill. This means they are either recyclable or compostable even down to using biodegradable packing tape and wax melt paper and cardboard boxes.
