Rods Sticks

Rods Sticks Handcrafted walking sticks, individually designed and painted in the Highlands of Scotland. These sticks have been carefully crafted by my Father.

He has worked on sticks most of his life, this is his hobby which he loves doing, retirement has given him more time to create and improve his craft further. He uses mainly Blackthorn sticks (from Hampshire), occasionally hazel, that he dries and straightens to create the base, then he starts the crook using blackface tups horn. After choosing the animal he wants to portrait, he carves the crook,

before finishing with oil paints. Red or roes deer antler ferrules are used for the base and also occasionally for connecting collars. The photos on the page are just a tiny selection of the sticks available, I only hold a few. I will add more when we are allowed to visit again! Unfortunately my Father will not take on commisions, he finds that people often have a picture in their mind of what they would like and he would hate to disappoint! We can arrange postage at an additional cost, at present the best I can find is Hermes 'Light and large' which is £30 to anywhere in the UK, delivery time usually 3 days from collection.
