I have absolutely adored watching this one grow and can’t wait to see the little lady it was crocheted for snuggled up under it.

For the first time since October last year, I actually have a finished blanket to show off. This round ripple is crocheted using King Cole Cottontop yarn; a gorgeous blend of acrylic and cotton, which is perfect for the warmer weather. It measures 38 inches across from point to point and is looking for a new home now.

This week I picked up a crochet hook for the first time this year and made a start on this round ripple blanket, using some of the yarn I saved when I had my massive clear out last year.

Completed (almost) in 6 days, building for a couple of hours each night. Buying sets can be a bit challenging, especially when there are a few small bricks missing. It’s all part of the fun though!

It had already been assembled then carefully taken apart, so I set about organising all the pieces before beginning to rebuild it. I’m really enjoying ❤️

Apologies for being missing in action for so long, but truth is I’ve retired my crochet hook for the time being because my has vanished completely. This week I’ve been concentrating on my new obsession which I finally finished last night. This was my Christmas present from my husband and I’ve loved building it. is one of my son’s film favourites and we have watched it many, many times. So when I saw this set, I just knew I had to have it. This is my first big Lego build and I’m already looking forward to building more. ®

This is what a purge looks like after nearly 7 years of collecting yarn. My is sadly still missing in action, and staring at boxes of yarn that won’t realistically be used has been having an impact on my mental health. So, I decided to sell about 90% of my stash and it’s going to its new home tomorrow. I have kept some of my favourites for when I eventually pick up my hook again, but there’ll be no more buying yarn just because it’s pretty. Here’s to a fresh start!

Ok, so my crochet content is severely lacking at the moment because I haven’t picked my hook up for weeks. So, here’s a little snippet of what 24 hours in New York looks like instead. My gorgeous girl, took her dear old mother to work with her this week and we had an absolute ball. We crammed so much sightseeing into our short layover including:
1. New York at night
2. The Rockefeller Center
3. Radio City
4. Actual on Broadway (ok, so I stood outside the theatre in awe!)
5, 6 and 12. Watching the sun rise over the Brooklyn bridge
7, 8 and 9. Views of the city from the One World observatory.
10. Just another mum on the subway.
11. Resting my legs in Central Park

Such a memorable little trip with an amazing tour guide.

So, today I had the final radiotherapy session of my breast cancer journey at the Northern Cancer Care Centre at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
Understandably, crafting has taken a back seat for the past few months but I’m hoping to ease myself back into to it without putting any pressure on myself. Back to work next week and hopefully some sense of normality.
