We’re growing! 🌳

We’re looking for a trainee wood floor fitter to join our team at Just Wood.

This is a hands-on role with full training provided, learning everything from floor preparation and installation through to sanding and finishing. No previous flooring experience is necessary, but we’re looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, keen to learn and takes pride in doing a job properly.

It’s a great opportunity to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career with a busy, established family-run company.

How your hardwood floors can change your home beyond just looks

Hardwood floors are timeless. But sometimes, they can feel cold, dark, or uninviting. The good news? With a few thoughtful touches, you can make your floors feel warmer, brighter, and truly welcoming.

Start by choosing the right finish. A warm-toned stain like honey or amber brings out the natural grain and adds a cozy glow that invites you in. Avoid overly dark stains that can absorb light and make spaces feel smaller.

Lighting plays a huge role. Natural light paired with well-placed warm LED lighting lifts the floor's character and brightens the entire room. Consider adding mirrors or light-coloured rugs to reflect light and create openness.

Texture and maintenance matter too. A satin or matte finish reduces glare and adds depth, bringing out wood's natural beauty. Regular cleaning and refinishing keep your floors smooth and radiant, preventing dullness from wear.

At Justwood Flooring, we've restored hundreds of homes, turning tired floors into stunning focal points that welcome guests with warmth and elegance. One recent project involved refinishing oak floors with a golden stain that changed the entire living room atmosphere—making it feel brighter and more inviting without changing a thing else.

What this means for you: don't settle for floors that just cover your space. With expert finishing, good lighting, and maintenance, your hardwood flooring can set the mood and lift your home's comfort.

Warm, bright, inviting—these are the qualities that make a house a home. What small change could make your floors feel more welcoming today?
