ATTENTION: STOLEN TOOLS – CHARMINSTER / STEWART ROAD AREA

​Hi everyone, I am reaching out to the local community for some help. Unfortunately, a van was broken into recently in the Charminster and Stewart Road area, and several high-value tools were stolen.

​We are asking everyone to keep a sharp eye out for the following items if they appear for sale online (Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, etc.) or at local cash-for-tools shops:

​Plunge Saw
​Double Battery Skill Saw
​Router
​7 or 8 Spare Batteries

​Identifying Marks:

All of these items are very distinctive. The tools and the batteries are either marked with red spray paint or have the initials 'DAC' written on them.
​If you saw anything suspicious in the area or if you come across tools and batteries matching this description, please send me a private message or contact the police. Any information at all could be a massive help in getting these back.

Project Spotlight: Elevate Brasserie & Bar, Bournemouth (2022)

Located inside the award-winning , was designed to give visitors the perfect place to relax, drink and dine while taking in the stunning views across Bournemouth’s seafront.

Over 3 months, we transformed the existing Terrace Café into a modern bar and bistro, complete with a brand new kitchen, bar, toilets, redecorated interiors and a refreshed outdoor terrace with new seating, umbrellas and astroturf.

Working alongside RTSAN Architects, we navigated several structural challenges including hidden steelwork that needed reconfiguring on-site and had new metalwork fabricated and welded to achieve the client’s desired open layout.

Delivered on time and on budget, this project turned a dated space into a stylish, versatile venue ready for pre-show drinks, dinners and conferences.

Project Spotlight: Rockwater Shacks by the Shore, Branksome (2022)

Located just meters from their popular Sandbanks restaurant, Shacks by the Shore was created to serve as a takeaway for artisan food, ice cream, beer and hot drinks for customers who wanted a high-quality experience on the go.

Over 10 weeks, we completely transformed the space which previously traded as a beach shop. We started with a full rip-out, installation of proper drainage and a complete electrical rewire to support all the new equipment - from fridges and freezers to a single-phase pizza oven, coffee and ice cream machines.

With only a limited electricity supply from the car park, careful planning was essential to make sure the power was balanced correctly and equipment was specifically selected which would be fit for the power supply.

Council restrictions meant we couldn’t alter the doors, so we created service hatches in each doorway for hot food, drinks, and ice cream, cutting queues and improving customer flow during busy summer periods.

The result? A beach kiosk that complements the main restaurant and serves the beach community efficiently, delivering the high-quality experience that the client envisioned.

Project Spotlight: Elegant Clinic, Canford Cliffs (2022)

Transforming a bog standard shop into a bespoke beauty clinic meant more than just walls and décor - it required smart thinking to make the space work for .

Over 12 weeks we:

🔨 Completely stripped the site back to start from scratch and carried out structural alterations to build two new treatment rooms (which included removing a chimney!)

⚡️ Installed full wiring

💧 Adapted the drainage

💨 Installed a bespoke MVHR system to ensure optimal airflow. With limited room to work, we planned the airflow routes carefully and collaborated with a specialist to select the MVHR equipment accordingly - a first for us on a project like this!

Delivered on time and on budget, we worked closely with to achieve the client’s vision of a clean, feminine and artistic space, where clients would feel comfortable during treatments.

Project Spotlight: POST, Bournemouth (2022)

From the team behind , POST saw a former Pizza Express become a vibrant Bier Haus inspired by Bohemian spirit - serving biers, cocktails and an authentic Cook Haus menu with live music.

Starting with a totally empty space, we brought the client’s creative vision to life over 3 months: a bold, untraditional and culturally rich artistic space filled with vintage details and greenery for a laid-back dining experience.

Soundproofing the ceiling was the biggest challenge for us. With residential flats above and the client’s plans to install a Funktion-One sound system meant that the ceiling had to be suspended, so we added extra structural supports to handle both the sound system and heavy-duty lighting.

The stage was a key part of the client’s vision. To stay sustainable (and on budget) we decided to build it using reclaimed timber from the old floor, tying perfectly into POST’s Bohemian, free-spirited and eco-conscious vibe.

Project Spotlight: Harlees, Swanage (2021)

, a fourth-generation family fish & chip restaurant chain, took over a former Harry Ramsden’s site on the high street near the seafront (a prime location!) to launch their new takeaway and casual dining concept.

We set out to revamp and modernise the space while keeping with Harlees’ nautical charm. Over eight weeks, we:

🎨 Completely redecorated the interiors and restored the original wood flooring

💳 Installed new POS self-service tills to make the venue cashless, which was a first for us! Our electricians worked closely with Epos to make this happen

🔧 Refitted the back kitchen with new equipment and counters, cold rooms and wet flooring with drainage channels - another first for us and our plumbers

⚙️ Installed a 7-metre range cooker, which was no small task at about 1.5 tons!

We were certainly faced with a few challenges when it came to manoeuvring that huge range cooker into place to perfecting the floor drainage system, but our team handled it all with precision and care.

We even spent an extra week - at our own cost - to make sure everything was perfect before Harlees opened their doors.

Fast forward to 2023 and Harlees won Best Multiple Operator in the UK at the Awards for the outstanding quality across their eight Dorset and Wiltshire sites! We’re so proud to have been a part of their journey.

Project Spotlight: Nole Pizza, Salisbury (2020) 

Next up in our catch-up series, the birth of a lockdown legend (part of ) 

What started as an old coffee shop quickly became an artisan pizza and craft beer spot with a modern, minimalist edge.

We transformed the entire space in just 8 weeks, starting with a full rip-out downstairs, complete electrical rewire and plumbing, plus the installation of a brand new kitchen and countertops. The seating area was given a fresh, contemporary restyle to match the brand’s clean, artisan feel. Upstairs, we added warmth and character through new wall features and beautifully sanded and stained floors. 

The VERY tight kitchen layout posed a challenge. It needed to fit pizza prep, beer taps, fridges and a washup area which at first didn’t look possible. Working alongside the kitchen supplier and client, we designed an efficient, bespoke layout in-house. We built a custom column for the beer taps, ran the pipes overhead and tucked fridges neatly underneath to save every inch of counter space.

Born during lockdown, Nole Pizza is still going strong. We’re proud to have played a part in creating this success story, proof that great design and clever building can make even the tightest spaces work beautifully.

Project Spotlight: Zim Braai, Bournemouth (2020)

Our journey of catching you up on the builds we’ve been busy with since 2020 starts here!

When Andy Lennox, owner of , came to us with his vision for a second Pan-African steakhouse on Poole Hill, we knew this project had to capture the same energy as the first location while standing proudly on its own. 

What looked like smooth sailing (considering we kitted out the first Zim Braai only two years beforehand) quickly became a true test of adaptability. 2020 brought lockdowns, delayed materials and social distancing, turning an 8 week build into 4 months. 

With a shoestring budget and a small team, our Director Alex Lewis rolled up his sleeves and made it happen using what materials were available, old-school craftsmanship and a whole lot of problem-solving.

Despite the challenges, the result was worth it. A vibrant, soulful restaurant full of life, art and culture.

Our personal highlight: murals painted directly onto the walls by local artist Slam Daniels (from 9th Seal), bringing Africa’s spirit to Bournemouth in a way no wallpaper ever could. 

From full strip-out to final finishes, we delivered a space that not only met but exceeded the client’s vision. And yes, we stayed on budget 😄

Projects like this remind us why we love what we do: creating hospitality and commercial spaces that go beyond four walls - places with atmosphere, authenticity and a story.
