Bet you didn't know this about your flowers. 🌍
The average bunch sold in the UK has been flown in from thousands of miles away, and a Lancaster University study found that imported bouquets carry ten times the carbon footprint of British-grown ones.

Ours have never been on a plane. Grown on small family farms here in Britain, picked fresh, arranged by hand and sent to you.

Support local growers growing with nature and celebrate the seasons with us. Free UK delivery. Send a posy or choose your frequency for a new subscription. 🌻🙂

An official sighting today of our resident slow worm in our compost heap. They're so cool. They are legless lizards, not slimy at all, well-natured, not venomous or bitey, and not actually endangered either which makes a pleasant change.

If you have a garden and want to make it comfy for them they love a nice warm compost heap. We've got a bit of old carpet on top of ours and this one likes to warm up under it. The heap is full of woodlice and worms and I think it likes to eat those.

Things that aren't a posy.
A posy is a small, hand-tied bunch of flowers. Given as a gesture, or kept as one. Mine are British, seasonal, and arrive ready to display in their own glass jar.
If you see any other posy imposters out there, let me know and I'll include them next time.

We've spotted our first stag beetle of the year in the garden. This one's a female because it doesn't have the big jaw 'antlers'. Not to be confused with Maybugs which are around now.

We've got an old wood pile that they lay eggs in and I found this one on our front door step in the sunshine. I moved it to take a nicer picture!

Stag beetles are in decline if there's no rotten wood for them to lay their eggs in. If you have a garden, do them a favour and create a wood pile that you can leave to rot.

If you find a stag beetle, you can report your sighting to https://stagbeetles.ptes.org/thank-you-for-the-sighting/
