Turning a problem into a feature is one of the most enjoyable challenges for the studio … when remodelling and extending the North wing of this large country house we were structurally obliged to retain this column when removing an exterior wall to create a garden room extension adjoining a bespoke library and cocktail space that we created. We clad the column in oak to match the bespoke drinks cabinet, added aged brass lighting and designed and produced daybed lounging to work around the column … the cream boucle with buttoning and close nail work is discreetly robust … laid back and lovely lounging …
