My Clients wanted blue to be the feature colour to celebrate their little boys June Christening.
Starting with a statement arrangement & using my clients celadon pottery container, along with books & toys, a little “babyscape”, for an individual touch & then the flowers. My thoughts went immediately to Delphinium, El Centurion Skyblue from these exquisite luxury spires always a June garden delight & the same colour as little Sebastian’s blue eyes! Cobalt blue Cornflowers always say June to me, remembering they were always the flowers of choice for buttonholes in Wi******er college days. Nigella has that relaxed summer vibe & I love them from flower to seed pod & are so pretty in pale blue. Agastache Blue & Echinops spheres, completing the five blues I used.
As foil to the blue flowers, floaty white English grown Ammi & Silene, finally my own garden Alchemillia mollis. ‘Al-Kym’ is its Arabic name, meaning ‘little magical one’, which of course this little boy is, to his family & friends celebrating his Christening day. With thanks to Jacques & her team in her wonderful Wiltshire venue, for surrounding the flowers with lovely dishes of food & for picking up the wind blown Bud vases of flowers for the tables! However, no one was complaining about the cooling breeze after such a hot week!
