A chair with a story 🩵

One of the loveliest moments I've had doing this job!

I recently reupholstered this chair, and when I delivered it back, by complete coincidence, several members of the family were visiting.

It turned out that four of the five people in this photograph, taken around 50 years ago, were there that day!

They hadn't even realised the chair was still in the family, so seeing it again after all those years was quite an emotional surprise.

In the recent photo, Helen (the baby) is on the left, Mary (holding the baby) is in the middle, their sister (standing behind the chair) is on the right, and Great Aunty Jill (the adult in the original photo) is sitting in the chair.

Such a lovely moment to be part of, and a reminder that furniture can hold so many memories.

Here's to another 50 years!

Fully reupholstered from the frame up in a fresh green and cream zigzag fabric from Linwood Fabric, with contrast pink piping and button details.

The wooden frame has been carefully sanded and oiled to bring out the warmth and character of the original wood in this mid century Beautility armchair.

A beautiful statement piece, combining its original vintage character with a fresh, playful finish — and ready for many more years of use.

A beautiful example of how warm neutrals are having their moment 🤎

I upholstered this armchair for Abraham Moon in a rich, earthy brown Melton wool from one of their staple collections.

With interiors moving towards warmer, more natural colour palettes, shades like chocolate, taupe, stone and terracotta feel both contemporary and timeless — and wool gives them so much depth and texture.

Finished in a gorgeous mustard chenille that works perfectly with the dark wood frame. I love how the rich colour brings it up to date while still letting the character of the original chair shine through ✨

A beautiful set of six G Plan Fresco dining chairs, designed by V.B. Wilkins in the 1960s ✨

An iconic piece of British mid-century design, these chairs have been fully reupholstered in a warm, textured yellow wool, beautifully complementing the rich wooden frames and those distinctive curved backs.

This little chair has gone from blending in, to becoming a real statement piece ✨ reupholstered in this beautiful abstract print by Laura Slater

Sometimes the simplest pieces are the most technically challenging.

This chair may look clean and understated, but its flowing curves and continuous silhouette made it anything but straightforward to upholster.

The challenge wasn't the pattern – it was getting the fabric to flow around every curve without a single crease while keeping the chair's sculptural form intact.

I'm loving the latest vibrant additions to the Parquet collection. This rich burnt orange makes such a beautiful statement and pairs perfectly with the warm neutral tones. Definitely one of my favourite new colours!
