I did take a few videos today of a small piece of dinosaur aged amber being polished but can't upload at the moment and not sure i will. I started with just one of the small pieces. Sadly you can only see in to some parts and other areas are still too dark, i did spot a couple of things that could be tiny insect inclusions and will need to be further investigated :) here are a couple of snaps from the microscope.

AFTER YEARS OF DREAMING ABOUT IT, IT HAPPENED, I FOUND IT! 😍 To me this has been something I have thought about for so long but never thought I knew enough or would be good enough to find it... well I went out and the luck gods dished me out a big serving of luck! Unlike many on line hunters and finders of things I did not take a camera to get videos or photos of my hunt, while they would be REALLY interesting for others to watch it's not something I do, I am even in 2 minds if to post this. I was on my own so when I made the discoveries it was a very personal moment for me to soak in, it would have been nice if my family came and could have shared in the moment but Amber is my thing at the end of the day. It's likely I could do another 10 trips and not find as much as i did on this 1st trip...It will be an experience I will remember till I die, the excitement of a discovery that means so much is something you will never forget :) will post up some other videos shortly, maybe Monday.

WHAT IS THIS? unknown insect inclusion in Kalimantan Amber ....??? 🤔 shape looks like a scorpion with claws out but it's not going to be i think its a bit of an illusion ... but what is it? just trying to shrink a video file i will add later... has more than 6 legs... does it have 8 like a pseudo scorpion? could i get that lucky?

EXCITING TIMES AHEAD FOR AMBER COLLECTORS AND THE AMBER COMUNITY....So my guys who polish amber all day every day have now been looking much more closely for insects over the past few weeks, not something they have bothered to do in the past because insects are so rare they just process the amber for jewellery, carvings or display pieces. Insects are exceptionally rare and when they are found they are often imperfect or degraded because of the chemical composition of the amber. Well preserved insects are so rare they are said to be of "scientific interest" and only a handful of insects have been formally described by the scientific community and so the list of species has not yet been compiled. Thank means the owners of these pieces maybe able to add valuable information to any scientific groups or individuals gathering data and information on the species list. Here are a couple of top grade Pieces I have just secured and are really exciting... could you identify what species of spider or centipede this is? you could be adding valuable data to the fossil record and at some point maybe have images of your insects used.... it is exciting to be on the cusp on new discoveries 🙂 some of the pieces are quite big or quite dark so I may need to reduce some when they arrive. Watch this space, the little "workshop Brading" could become one of the only outlets in the world specialising is in fossil amber with insects from both Borneo and Sumatra.... very excited 😁 these pieces are far more scientifically interesting than any of the Megalodon teeth coming from Indonesia and more exciting than any of the insect inclusions from Baltic or Burmese Ambers 🙂 See less

so that's today’s offerings, 6 megs at the best prices I can offer, about 10% less than what they will go on ebay at. Hope you like them they took many hours to find and negotiate :) great Christmas gift and likely among the last land dug teeth I will be getting from Indonesia, so don't wait around for the next shipment because its un likley there will be one with teeth like this 😍

Next up I have this super slim 5.05"long lower Megalodon shark tooth, fantastic shape, great serrations but this tooth has a restored root hence only £145

Here I have a big 5.2", tooth, it has sharp serrations and nice colours but again it has a cool shape blade. This tooth is an interesting one because at some point while it was in the sharks mouth it sustained some feeding damage to the tip but the tooth did not fall out, it stayed in the mouth long enough for feeding to wear some of the top serrations smooth. Lovely wide bourlette with some great colour. No repairs or restoration, comes with stand info and certificate £165
