Timage, A Family Business
For over 35 years Timage has been a leading name in the UK marine industry supplying the finest British boat builders with quality fittings and fixtures made in Italy. The story began in 1976 when Giorgio Lanza established Lanza Fittings and began to import a range of brass hardware and giftware produced by relatives in his native Italy. It soon became clear that there wa
s a demand for the quality and design of the Italian products and he quickly looked to expand the range. Today his two sons Marcus and Oliver Lanza continue to ensure that Timage remains true to its core values, that is, to supply a quality product of excellent design, provide customers with value for money and offer an exceptional customer service. Timage Lighting
Quality and beautiful design are at the heart of every product that Timage sells. With knowledge that has been passed down through the generations Timage is able to identify the need for a better product and envisage and source the solution. Lighting has always been an important part of the company's product range and never more so than now. Today, Timage supplies a diverse range of mains and low voltage lighting and is constantly looking to introduce new designs, technologies and materials. Timage's lighting is unique in the market as all of the models have been designed to withstand the harsh marine environment. When you choose a Timage product you know that you are choosing a fitting made to last. Bulkhead Lights and Mains Voltage Lighting
Timage built its lighting reputation on high quality, pressure die cast brass bulkhead lights. This range has been developed and expanded over the years and many of the models are now available with integrated LED modules which can offer the customer large reductions in energy consumption and low maintenance whilst still retaining the character of the traditional bulkhead light. Being made wholly from brass and other non corrosive materials, this range of lighting is ideal for use in coastal areas where rust and corrosion would plague other fittings. Ceiling lights, wall lights and table lamps make up the rest of the mains voltage lighting product range and are once again constructed from solid brass and have a nautical design influence. This range has remained a popular choice for restaurants, bars, shop fitters and developers. Timage have recently added new finishes such as antique brass and copper plated brass alongside their standard finishes of natural polished brass and chrome plated brass. The range can also be ordered in any of the RAL colours in either a gloss or matt on request. Low Voltage Lighting
Timage began its low voltage lighting range with a small collection of halogen spotlights for boats. Over the years, the range has seen the addition of reading lights, step and courtesy lights, table and wall lamps and, most recently, underwater lights. The vast majority of the lighting is now LED and operates anywhere between 10 and 30Vdc. The ceiling spotlights make use of both SMD LED and Power LED technology and are constructed entirely from non corrosive materials. The lights are also very compact in their design having been intended for use on boats where space is at a premium. As a consequence, these ceiling lights are also ideal for projects with space restrictions away from the yachting world. The lights are characterised by their chrome plated brass faces which add a sense of solidity and strength to their design. Reading lights are an important tool on board a vessel and Timage has developed a large range of models to cater for all tastes and needs. Many of these fittings have proved popular away from yachts, most of all in hotels as they make excellent bed head reading lights. The latest addition to the Timage range of low voltage lighting is the new collection of underwater lighting by Sea Vision USA. Sea Vision pioneered the underwater lighting craze in the yacht world and they have developed a comprehensive range of LED, metal halide and plasma underwater lights. Designed for use in salt water, these lights are constructed from marine grade bronze and other non-corrosive materials to ensure they last and last. LED models are available in single colour, dual colour or full RGB colour change. Innovative Design
Many of Timage's products have been nominated for various yacht fittings awards. In 2009 the innovative Halley removable table lamp won the prestigious DAME award category for interior equipment and electrical fittings as well as The Nautical Design Award for technology and accessories. Halley is a waterproof table lamp that can be removed from its power socket when not in use. The lamp can be turned on and off simply by twisting the base and it is available in two versions, with or without a shade. The lamp is made from chrome plated brass and features an integrated LED module to ensure a bright yet frugal light output. The real innovation is the lamp's removable nature and the possibility of installing multiple power sockets for any one lamp, thus maximising its use. Halley would make an excellent outdoor lamp for restaurants and bars where subtle and flexible lighting is required.
