๐ฟโจ When David Came to Drawing Club! โ๏ธ๐จ
Last week in Drawing Club 9+ .artists our artists travelled back in time to the Renaissance, exploring the famous David by Michelangelo.
David is one of the most famous sculptures in the world and represents the young biblical hero who defeated the giant Goliath. What makes this statue so special is that Michelangelo chose to show David before the battle. Instead of celebrating a victory, we see a moment of courage, focus and determination as he prepares to face a challenge.
As we studied Davidโs face, we looked closely at expression, proportion and detail, bringing a marble masterpiece to life through our drawings. ๐คโ๏ธ
As you can see in the video, one of our artists chose to draw a girl instead of David and thatโs the beauty of creative freedom.
Along the way, we learned about the Renaissance and took a little memory trip to Florence, where David has inspired visitors and artists for over 500 years. ๐ฎ๐นโจ
David reminds us that you donโt have to be the biggest or strongest to overcome challenges. Sometimes courage, focus and believing in yourself are what matter most. ๐
