🏆 Well… we’ve bitten the bullet!

After talking ourselves out of it plenty of times over the years, this year we’ve actually gone for it and entered the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards! 🤞

And once I started, I got a little carried away… because we haven't entered just one category — we've entered THREE! 😂

Putting the applications together has actually made us stop and look back at what we've achieved — 25 years in business, still independent, still just the two of us running Bedrock, and still doing things our way.

A huge part of every application has been about our customers, because without the people who choose to shop locally, come back to us and recommend us to others, there wouldn't be a Bedrock 25 years later. ❤️

So now they're submitted, all we can do is keep everything crossed! 🤞

📮 Only “parts” of Bridgwater affected? It doesn’t sound like it!

Royal Mail has responded to the ongoing delays, saying that “parts” of Bridgwater have been affected due to staff sickness and that deliveries should return to normal within a week.

However, judging by the comments being made locally, the problem appears to stretch across Bridgwater and into the surrounding villages.

We’re still waiting for something that was sent to us locally First Class a week ago, and many people say they’ve been experiencing problems for much longer.

If the mail has already been sorted and is sitting there ready to go out, perhaps it’s time for management to get their boots on the ground and help the posties deliver it. The staff who are still working can only do so much, and they shouldn’t be left to carry the full weight of the backlog.

Royal Mail says things should be back to normal within a week… we sincerely hope they’re right, but we won’t hold our breath!

To the individual who left a mess outside our shop yesterday: you did not return by 10:00 am to clean it up. We now have clear CCTV footage of you and your vehicle (57 plate white small van). The evidence will be handed over to the police and the council. We are open until 4:00 pm today if you wish to resolve this directly before further action is taken

Anybody recognise this dirty b*****d who decided to walk past the open pub next door and instead come and p**s in our driveway in broad daylight at 7.30pm this evening!! We have signs up saying not a toilet, that you're are on camera but still every weekend we are having to clean up other people p**s and s**t!!! Please come back tomorrow at 10am with bleach (we will provide the hot water) as in this heat and no rain im sure it will be stinking by the morning.
