🎂HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME 🎂

Its my birthday, so I thought I'd do a fun photo round up from over the years and a few fun facts you may not know :)

⭐My degree is in textile design, specialising in fiber optic weaving - where my love of lighting began ✨

⭐I moved to Brighton exactly 20 years ago last Saturday- 13th June 2006, from Galway Ireland with my 4 year old Lulu (yes I have a 24 year old 🤪, big up the single parents out there)

⭐My Masters is in Photography, I was an exhibiting artist for years, and taught photography in local colleges.

⭐I have only in recent years swam regularly in Brighton sea, attempting to master the paddle board

⭐I started and grew Spark & Bell while pregnant and on my maternity (see 2nd photo)

⭐My favourite food all through my childhood was lasagna because it was Garfield's favourite (I had a Garfield club)

⭐I can't walk into a cafe, restaurant or hotel without scanning the lighting and assessing their beauty/quality 😆

💡LARGE ARCH CARA WALL LIGHT 💡

We wanted to design an impactful light that bring the warmth of our natural materials into a space without having to wire in. You can choose raw brass or dark bronze, seen here in this beautiful design by and of course our Oak, walnut or Spalted Beech Cara shades. You also get to choose your fabric cable colour and switch and plug colour.

✨EALA CERAMIC LIGHTING ✨

A post dedicated to our most beloved Ceramic designs - The Eala collection. We teamed up with the talented local ceramicist Katie Preece to create bespoke flecked stoneware designs. The bespoke pattern imprinted onto the hand built clay slabs is inspired by the Irish legend, ‘The Children of Lir’; an abstract representation of swan feathers on rippling lake waters. The discs are glazed on the inside in either all white or white and pink, leaving a gorgeously tactile raw clay edge.

We have loved seeing these pieces in your homes and designs and recently added a pendant design to the collection.

♻️ CD sorting session ♻️

We had a great session with
Candidates sorting through hundreds of CD cases today. Everything sorted into clear cases, black inserts, paper inserts and CDs- nothing to landfill.

Our daughter laoisha is a recent graduate of this incredible 2 year programme supporting SEN young adults in accessing work , so it was great to have them visit

We're running 6 sessions in all, 3 CD sorting sessions and 3 shade making sessions. The final Florence shades they make will be going into their new training centre near Brighton pavilion, so there's more to come 🙌

🦞 HAPPY WORLD OCEAN DAY 🦞

The UN's theme for this year is reimagine- and that's exactly what we set our minds to. For the last year we've been experimenting with recycled marine plastics, combining our passion for recycled materials with our love for the sea.

We've taken salvaged ghost gear; lost, abandoned or discarded fishing nets and lines, and turned them into the latest colourway in our library of marbled recycled plastics.

£20 from every Deep Sea Green light will go directly to our friends at to help with their ongoing initiatives to keep waste out of our waters. 

We're going to keep experimenting with this waste material so hopefully this is the first of many designs 🦞

✨CAROUSEL WALL LIGHT ✨

Our friends over at , creating the most beautiful spaces. Its a masterclass in calm, warmth and unapologetic colour. You can have real fun in bathroom designs- you don't stay in the space for too long and you can design it in a way that elevates and inspires you.

Top tip, while our range of bathroom lights has grealty expanded over the last few months, these are regular IP20 lights- as they are over 60cm over the sink, they do not need to be bathroom rated. You're welcome 😁

💡TRIPLE ARM CHANDELIER 💡

One of the greatest things about this chandelier is its versatility. I have seen it in so many different spaces, but most notable is how well it works in Victorian and Edwardian homes.

We always design our chandeliers and larger pieces with metal stems, much neater than chains. We make all our lights to order- your space your drop length 🤗 Satin brass finish seen here in @ sitting room
