Floranina

It was my first visit to Banstead Flower Club this afternoon and I have been looking forward to that for ages.

This Club has 108 members - believed to be the largest in Surrey - and only about a dozen or so didn't turn up, so what a crowd!!

I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my floral facts with them all and the feedback was utterly mind-blowing so I'm still processing all that. Thank you ladies and gents! 🤗🤗

It was lovely catching up with Yan Skates again too - and he struck lucky in the raffle winning a large design to take home.

And my regular birthday design was a floral filled pumpkin just in time for Halloween! 🎃

Such a great afternoon surrounded by flowers and floral folk.

Finally, a HUGE thank you to Gill Mead who went above and beyond helping me with set up and take down. So, so grateful; especially as I'm nursing a sprained ankle at the moment!

It's the last Tuesday of the month, so it was time for another workshop @ Notcutts Garden Pride Ditchling.

This time we got Halloween ready with pumpkin designs.

Very well done Diane, Maggie, Christine, Ann, Nicola, Jackie, Debbie, Sam, Jan H and Laura - what a pumpkin 🎃 feast!

There was such a lovely atmosphere in the room as everyone got stuck in - thank you ladies for a very special morning.

Next month - Tuesday 24 November 2026 - we will be creating festive wreaths so why not come along and join us. Head to my website www.floranina.co.uk for more details.

See you soon!

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed spending time with my Floranina Belles this afternoon... the weather was so crazy and wild ☔️🌬☔️ but we all just had the best of times...

Everyone created such glorious autumnal garlands and I'm just over the moon with all their efforts.

Just look at what they all created... bravo Lara, Deby, Jan H, Sam, Karen, Maggie, Petra, Cherry and Nicola. Utterly stunning!

I'm one happy bunny!

Hats off to Helen Hare who, today, braved Storm Austen and travelled from Kent to run an all day workshop for members of Flower Arranging and Design Sussex.

She showed a total of three designs featuring an array of mechanics and techniques, and I myself created two of them.

What a lovely playday!

And it's a wrap... tonight, on a wet and blustery evening, my Thursday learners went out in style proudly carrying their masterpieces to their cars.

Stunning work Glynis, Jan C and Pauline; I'm beyond proud of your efforts!

It has been so wonderful to have the opportunity to share my floral passion with like-minded floral folk these past five weeks, and to nurture their newfound talents. I am one lucky teacher!

What a shame that, across two classes, Debbie, Gayle and Petra were poorly this week and thus didn't get the chance to create their own pedestal arrangements but hopefully one day...

Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart for your enthusiasm and support - means the world.

Talk about going out with a bang!!

Tonight was the last lesson for my Tuesday learners and they did me beyond proud with their stunning pedestal arrangements.

A big shout out to Nicola, Maree, Sam, Karen, Tanya, Tricia, Jeanette and Moira. I'm speechless - they absolutely nailed it.

It's been such a pleasure and a joy to have them in class and to see their enthusiasm for flowers and design grow week in and out. How lucky am I??!

And it's not long now until the new five week festive course starts on Thursday 05 November 2026 and I already know there will be a lot of familiar faces back again then... Yay!

You can join in too if you so wish as a second course will run from Tuesday 03 November 2026. Just call the college on 01273 422632 to book your place. See you soon... 🌲🌲🌲

Mamma Mia!

What a stunning, stunning week we had in glorious Puglia.

We stayed in an apartment in Francavilla Fontana in the centre of Puglia and spent our week touring around.

Matera was undoubtedly the absolute highlight but every town with surrounding countryside, every courtyard and every piazza was such a delight.

My birthday lunch perched high up in Ostuni will forever be imprinted in my memory, that's for sure. As will the special dinner that night in Francavilla Fontana too... boy were we stuffed... 😋

Grazie mille Puglia - abbiamo fatto una vacanza fantastica! 🇮🇹 🍾 🇮🇹

Another year around the sun. 🌞 🍾 🌞

There's the one beautiful constant who's been part of so, so many birthdays in my life and I'm forever grateful. 🥰🥰🥰

It would be fair to say that he's making this particular birthday truly, truly special...

My family is my everything and I am so blessed to have all these special humans in my life.
💙💙💙💚💚💚💚💚

Cheers!
