When people think about hiring an interior designer, they often imagine that they're paying for help choosing paint colours, furniture and finishes. Whilst those things are certainly part of the process, they're rarely the reason my clients get in touch.
Most of the people I work with already have a good sense of what they like. They know their home isn't working as well as it could, and they often have plenty of ideas saved on Pinterest or Instagram. What they're struggling with is how to bring everything together and make confident decisions that will genuinely improve the way they live.
The reality is that a renovation or redesign involves hundreds of decisions, many of which are interconnected. A change to the layout affects the lighting. The lighting affects the atmosphere. The atmosphere influences how a room feels to spend time in. It can quickly become overwhelming, particularly when you're also juggling work, family life and everything else that demands your attention.
What clients are really investing in is clarity and guidance. They want someone who can see the bigger picture, help them avoid costly mistakes and create a cohesive plan that reflects both their home and the way they want to live.
Of course, the finished result matters, but what I hear most often is how much easier the process felt having someone they trusted to guide them through it. Knowing that the decisions were considered, that the details had been thought through and that the end result would be a home that not only looked beautiful but worked beautifully too.
Because good interior design isn't simply about creating attractive rooms. It's about creating a home that supports your family, makes everyday life easier and feels like somewhere you genuinely love spending time.
If you're planning a renovation or your home no longer feels quite right, I'd love to help.
