Edwardian mahogany plant stand designed in the refined Sheraton-revival style with striking geometric barber-pole inlay around both tiers, accented by delicate circular ring stringing set into the centre of the top surface and lower shelf, plus fine line inlay down all four legs.

Take a look at this wonderful Victorian oil by British painter Edward Priestley (1820-1880). At first glance, it feels like a classic idyllic 19th century equestrian scene - three powerful horses galloping across an open pasture.
But look a little closer on the left.
Just beyond the tree line, an early steam locomotive and carriage chug across the landscape.
Priestley has beautifully captured a massive turning point in British history: the moment traditional rural life met the unstoppable momentum of the Industrial Revolution.

We knew this Regency gentleman had presence, but a careful surface clean has totally transformed him.
