🎉Happy Earth Day - 22nd April!🎉

EarthDay.org what's that all about I hear some of you say - the serious answer is "a call to action for collective environmental responsibility", which, to you and I, means all working together to care for the world in which we live! 🌱
The theme this year is "Our Power, Our Planet", highlighting the role of individuals, communities, and organizations in driving environmental progress. 🌿
We have all heard, and sometimes uttered, " but my efforts are just a drop in the ocean - it needs governments to make meaningful changes", or, "my actions will make no difference, it is up to others to clean up their acts". However, everything starts somewhere and, as they say, from small acorns the mighty oaks grow! 🌳
Just think, you make a small change and tell all your social media friends and contacts about it - if just 1% of those people make a small change and tell all their friends about it and so on, it will not take long to have a significant impact! 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
📕Why not keep a journal - start with all the things you would like to do - here are some examples:
🌱 Join local clean-ups, (Buckingham Wombles, Winslow Wombles and Rotary Club of Buckingham are out this Sunday), tree planting, or sustainability workshops.
🌱Reduce personal environmental impact by using public transport, cycling, or switching to energy-efficient appliances.
🌱Support NGOs and environmental charities through donations or volunteering. (checkout Buckingham Environmental Action Network or BEAN for short!)
🌱Engage in educational initiatives, such as teaching children about climate change or hosting community discussions🚸
You don't need to do them all at once, however, keeping a journal of progress will help keep you motivated. Add stories or pictures of your adventures and experiences to make a great record to look back on! 📖 We would love to see your pictures and hear about your achievements so please keep in touch.
