Oooh what a perfect little table!
Beautiful solid oak top, with warm, happy summery blue legs. Nice and narrow, so it will add a splash of brightness to an awkward, tight space that just needs a place to set things down.
Slide into a hallway, squeeze into a tiny kitchen, or shimmy it in to a spatially challenged bedroom.

All finished. This rare Morris of Glasgow mid century sideboard has had a refresh and is ready to roll.
The quality of this piece shines through in the details; bevelled drawer fronts, use of different timbers, and jointed construction. But the real star of the show, in my humble opinion, is the stunning walnut veneer.

Had a spray day!
I’m pretty pleased with the transformation of these chairs, from extremely basic to bright, bold, and fun. Great, multifunctional, stacking chairs.
The price is still basic though. Only £15 each 🤩

Built by hand.
I’m currently having a love affair with primitive furniture, and we have been experimenting with building some.
The bench is dining chair height, and can be used inside or out.
The stool is very, VERY, primitive, and is coming home to be a plant stand 🤣

That’s one way to wash 30 chairs.
Let the rain do the heavy lifting, then just give them a wipe down.
These will be sold be undergoing a bit of a transformation, so stay tuned.
Of course they stack, but they are also pretty comfortable, due to the moulded shape.
Yes, they are officially retro, and yes, you probably did have them at school.
I’m seeing them as suitable for dining indoors and out. Hopefully you will see that too once they have been spruced up!

This stunning Louis XVI style cabinet is finally ready!
It’s been a real labour of love to get it to this point, but I’m so pleased with the result.
I’m also very happy with how it brings lightness (in colour and feel) to this corner of the shop. Next to the solid, dark oak of the refectory table, and the serpentine sideboard, this unexpected mix is a perfect example of how different styles can complement each other.

Have you heard of the “Unexpected red” theory?
Coined by Migliazzo Simon on Tik Tok, but in evidence for centuries in interiors around the world. It is the introduction of red accents to a room.
Red seems to draws the eye, prompting the joy of discovery akin to spotting a ripe berry amongst foliage - most likely appealing to the hunter gather in us.
Whatever it is, bringing some red into a space where you might not expect to see it, can liven up an otherwise flat scheme if used wisely.
And I think these little painted wall shelves illustrate the point nicely. Use them to bring vintage charm to a more modern room, or as a bright detail amongst more traditional furniture.
Or just throw into a whole mix of styles if you’re hankering for a more “collected” feel.
