Well, November's looking rather busy! In fact, looking at my diary, I'm starting to wonder if I'll actually see the inside of my own house this month!

With Christmas fast approaching, I'll be packing up my crochet creations and heading off to lots of lovely fairs and markets. I've got handmade gifts, colourful baskets, quirky little characters and plenty of festive goodies to tempt you with!

So, if you're fed up with buying the same old Christmas presents every year, come and say hello! You never know, you might just find something a bit different for that person who's impossible to buy for.

And if you end up buying yourself a little something while you're there? Well, I certainly won't tell anyone...

One event I'm especially pleased to be part of is Shop for a Cure on Sunday 22nd November, supporting the breast cancer cause. It's a lovely opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done while supporting something really worthwhile.

I've popped all my November market dates and locations in the carousel, so have a swipe and see where you can find me. There are some brilliant independent makers and small businesses at these events, so it's well worth popping along.

Now, I need to know...are you one of those smug people who's already finished their Christmas shopping, or will you be panic-buying on Christmas Eve with the
rest of us?!

Good morning from Granny! and Jan Johnston today it’s double trouble ☀️🧶

It’s market day again, and Mr K has been persuaded out of bed early for another Saturday adventure! 😂☕️

We’re at the Weston Makers Market in the Sovereign Centre today, 10am–3pm, alongside lots of other fabulous local makers.

We’ll have plenty of handmade goodies with us, so if you’re out and about in Weston, do pop in, have a browse and say hello. We always love a good catch-up! 💛

Know someone who's a bit of a crafty so-and-so? Well, I might just have
found you their Christmas present.

I've been keeping a little secret and I'm SO excited to finally share it with you...

My brand NEW Make Your Own Crochet Basket Kits are here! 🎉

I’m handing over the crochet hook and letting YOU do the making!

I've put together everything you need to create your very own crochet basket, whether you fancy a little trinket basket for your bits and bobs or something a bit bigger for keeping things tidy.

So, what's in the kit?

- Gorgeous recycled cotton yarn from .zpagetti
- Crochet hooks, stitch markers to get you started
- Wooden basket base
- My very own crochet basket pattern and instructions to follow
- 'Handmade' label to finish off

And you get to choose your yarn colour, too! The lovely petrol blue shown in the photos is just one option.

There are two basket sizes available:
Small (10cm) – perfect for jewellery, keys and all those little things that mysteriously disappear around the house.
Medium (15cm) – ideal for a bit of extra storage, or just making your shelves look pretty!

I think these would make such a lovely Christmas gift for someone who enjoys crochet, loves getting creative or fancies having a go at making something themselves.

Because sometimes the best presents aren't things you just unwrap. They're things you get to spend a few happy hours making!

And let's be fair, there's something rather satisfying about being able to say, "I made that!"

I may have gone a LITTLE overboard with the stationery...😂

But honestly - is there such a thing?!

I've been having a bit of a branding makeover here at gifts by Granny and I thought I'd show you some of the little things that go into making your orders feel that bit more special.

Because when you buy from a small business, it's not just about what's inside the parcel, is it?

It's the handwritten thank you, the lovely packaging, the little details that make you feel like an actual person rather than a random order number. And that's exactly how I want people to feel when they buy from me!

So, I've been working with Joanne at on some lovely new bits and pieces, including thank you postcards, business cards, stickers and labels.

And when the enormous delivery arrived on Joanne's desk - she wondered whether I'd accidentally ordered enough stationery to last until 2050...I even got
my own pigeonhole in her office... (scroll to see!)

But joking aside, I really do think those little finishing touches matter. You don't need fancy boxes or a huge budget to make someone feel appreciated. Sometimes a simple thank you or a thoughtful extra tucked into their order is enough to make them smile.

And I've already started putting my new goodies to use, so some of you might have spotted them in your parcels!

Now, I want to know TWO things...

I'm always up for a bit of inspiration (although Joanne might ban me from ordering any more stationery for a while!).

Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm absolutely rubbish at keeping a secret so this has been quite the challenge!

I've been busy working on something new behind the scenes at gifts by Granny, and I'm getting rather excited about finally sharing it with you!

Let's just say that this time, I'm not doing all the hard work myself...YOU might have to get your hands involved! 😉

There's yarn, there's a crochet hook and there's something rather lovely to show for it at the end.

And with Christmas creeping up, the timing couldn't be better!

But that's all you're getting out of me for now.

Good morning from Bleadon! ☀️🧶

It’s all hands on deck as we put the finishing touches to our stalls, ready for Bleadon Village Market opening at 9.30am!

I missed last month’s market, so I’m really looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and all the other amazing stallholders. It’s always such a lovely, friendly morning. 💛

And making his market debut today is Hamish No. 24, sporting a rather fabulous new autumnal look! 🐮🍂 I think you’ll notice a little difference… what do you think of his new hairstyle? 😂

I am very excited to have lots of lovely Fused Glass workshops scheduled for the rest of 2026. I have some in Weston and Clevedon, and maybe adding a couple of extra in another venue but that is still to be sorted.

Did you know that a survey of over 8,000 crocheters found nearly 90%
said crochet helped them feel calmer?

Turns out, getting tangled up in yarn might actually be a rather lovely way to untangle your thoughts!

There's something about switching off from the everyday chaos, getting creative and making something with your own two hands. And you don't even have to be good at it to enjoy yourself.

Which brings me nicely to some exciting news...my November crochet workshops are here!

I've got beginner-friendly sessions where you can learn to crochet your own Christmas bow, plus some next-step workshops for those of you who already know your way around a hook and fancy making a trinket basket.

We're getting crafty in Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare and I'd love you to join me.
