Here’s a decorating job completed in Harle Syke. The challenge with this project was to not get a single speck of paint on anything nor a speck of dust, as the client suffers from severe OCD regarding cleanliness. So, we had to be ultra careful to clean up as we made progress, probably spending as much time cleaning as we did decorating.

We also carried out a deep clean once the decorating had been completed in two reception rooms, staircase, landing, utility room and downstairs WC.

I personally went round on my hands and knees inspecting every inch of the laminate flooring to ensure there were no paint spots.

Hi again,

Here’s a bedroom I completed in Brierfield recently. The client was having new built in wardrobes fitted and had the old ones ripped out. Consequently, the room needed a fair bit of repair/filling prior to decorating.

All the walls and ceiling were sanded using the Festool Planex and dust extractor.

I treated the peeling paint areas with Zinsser Peelstop, treated bare plaster with Zinsser Gardz and filled holes, cracks and feathered out peeled paint edges with fine filler.

The woodwork was sanded, caulked and primed using Zinsser Bullseye 123 Plus.

The ceiling was given two coats of Macphersons Covertex Brilliant White Matt Emulsion. The walls were given two coats of Crown Vinyl Matt colour tinted.

The radiator was sanded, primed and painted using the wall paint, then sealed using Sadolin Polyurethane Clear Satin Varnish.

The woodwork was given two topcoats of Crown Fastflow Brilliant White Satin to complete the project.

We will be returning at a later date to decorate another part of the house, so I will update with the new carpet and built in wardrobes in situ 😀

Hi everyone,

Here is an exterior we recently completed in Padiham. The. client asked us to paint the rear exterior of the property, which also included some masonry repair work.

I repaired sections of render and a window sill using Toupret Mortar Repair Filler.

The girls applied two coats of Sandtex Masonry Paint to the render and undercoated the sills, corbel stones and downpipes.

We colour matched the Sandtex Xtra Oil Based Eggshell to the kitchen waste pipe and applied two coats to the downpipes, corbel stones and sills to complete the project.

The client was really pleased and invited us back to decorate the main bedroom.

Good afternoon everyone,

It’s been a while since we have had a chance to post jobs that have been completed recently.

We were asked to step in and help a construction company called Candelisa, who are based in Skipton.

They are currently constructing an 18 plot executive homes site in Kirby Lonsdale. The previous decorators were moved on for various reasons and Candelisa invited us to be the decorating contractor for the whole site.

Our first objective was to complete the decorating of plot 5, a five bedroomed detached property with five bathrooms, two reception rooms and a kitchen.

The specification sheet stipulated the walls and ceilings were to be done using Dulux Supermatt White, woodwork in white eggshell and oak doors using Osmo Satin Finish Oil.

So, we spent 1.5 days masking and sheeting up absolutely everything.

Beth proceeded to sand all the walls and ceilings as it had already been mist coated, whilst Tegan addressed any filling that was needed.

I then sprayed 140 litres of the Dulux Supermatt.

Beth and Tegan fine filled, sanded and primed all of the skirting, architraves and sills using Crown Fastflow Brilliant White Undercoat, Toupret Fine Filler and HB42 Professional Caulk.

After completing this, we applied two coats of Fastflow Brilliant White Eggshell.

All together 7.5 litres of undercoat and 10 litres of eggshell was used.

The oak doors took 7.5 litres of Osmo Oil with a sand to achieve a good finish in between coats using 320 grit sandpaper.

It took the three of us 7 labour days from start to finish, including snagging.

We were under pressure to hit a deadline for handover and we achieved it with aplomb.

So, our first 1,000,000 new build complete and we are ready for the next one.

Good evening everyone,

Here is a huge project we have completed over a period of three and a half weeks. What was supposed to be a straight forward redecoration, became a much bigger challenge. After stripping about seven layers of anaglypta off the walls (the previous owner clearly didn’t believe in stripping walls at all), we were presented with plasterwork blown all over the place.

Sections of wall just fell back to brick. It equated to having to apply 150kg of bonding plaster and finishing plaster, before any decorating could take place

We lined the walls using 2000 grade lining paper and installed coving in two bedrooms. The window sills were also stripped of the Formica coatings, then refurbished in hardboard and pine beading trim.

Huge amount of filling to other areas of walls had to be done, filling cracks and sinks. Some woodwork had to have sheets of paint perked off because the previous owner did not sand and key any wood surface, just painted on top of the old paint. This required a heat gun, sanders, 8@ grit sandpaper, Crown PX4 Adhesion Primer, three undercoats, Toupret Woodfiller and two coats of Crown Fastfow Satin.

Various colours were chosen and applied in each room, too many to mention.

The hallway door, handrails and front lounge sills were treated with French Chic “Créme De La Créme” and finished with the French Chic Btown Wax to create a wood effect.

Radiators were drained, removed and reinstalled after the job was completed.

It was a huge challenge, but the three of us persevered until the end.

Good evening everyone,

We were recently asked to complete an exterior job on a detached house that will soon be a residential home. The general condition of the render was poor in parts around the property due to ivy. It had been treated, but the roots had played havoc with the pebble dash.

So, we set to work on it. I power washed the whole building to remove grime, loose failed paint and dead ivy roots. This was quite a task and we filled a wheelie bin with the debris.

Beth carefully sheeted up all the sensitive areas, such as the stone sills, mullions and lintels that were renting natural stone. Tegan was tasked with repairing damaged render and stippling it in using Toupret Mortar Repair Filler.

Both also applied Sandtex Trade Stabilising Solution to areas where we had power washed off any flakey paint.

Once the substrate had been repaired and prepared, I sprayed Sandtex Trade Smooth Masonry Paint “Chalk Hill” onto the render. I pumped 70L of the paint through my TriTech T7. The apex above the garage extension involved having to hire a cherry picker in order to get to it and paint the chimney stack and walls either side.

The girls finished the job off by painting the brickwork using Sandtex Trade Smooth Masonry Paint “Gallery Grey”, which took 10L.

The final touch was to sand the handrail running up the driveway and painting in Coovar Black Enamel Paint as a goodwill gesture.

I power washed the tarmac after finishing spraying, as the girls demasked the property,

A very happy client who we will be carrying out more work for, in the future.

Hi again,

We are always busy so it’s a challenge to keep up with posts these days.

Here is a job we completed for a returning client in Rawtenstall. They had moved recently and wanted us to decorate the kitchen after a refit and to decorate a guest bedroom.

We employed the usual processes of sanding, filling, caulking before any paint was applied UK the surfaces.

The clients just wanted plain white. So we used Crown Clean Extreme Brilliant White Durable Matt in both spaces.

The guest bedroom had a dark varnished wooden sill, which we stain blocked, primed, undercoated and top coated in satin.

Both spaces look really fresh and sharp looking now 😃👍

Hi everyone,

Here’s a wallpapering job we were asked to to complete for clients in Padiham.

We had to go done filling/repair work to the plastering first, before we hung the wallpaper on all four walls. We also freshened up the woodwork, by giving it a light sand, caulking it using HB42 Professional Caulk and a topcoat of Crown Fastflow Brilliant White Satinwood paint.

We will be returning at a later date to carry out work on the hall, stairs and landing. 😃👍

Good evening everyone,

Here’s a project we completed for a returning client in Wilpshire. We have been working at this property on and off, over a long period of time. Mainly mist coating and installing coving etc.

However, we have now reached a stage where the last few rooms needed mist coating, coving installed and decorating to a finish.

The clients briefed us regarding what they wanted and we advised in relation to colour choices.

The master bedroom, soon to be walk in wardrobe, en suite and main bathroom were mist coated first using Macphersons Covertex Brilliant White Matt Emulsion.

I then installed coving in the master bedroom and walk in wardrobe area. This was a particular challenge because I was dealing with two different ceiling heights. This involved working out a solution with the coving installation. I was really happy with the plan I came up with.

Both bathrooms were then colour saturated with Crown Clean Extreme, mixed to Farrow and Ball “Oxford Stone”. The woodwork was prepped, caulked and painted using Crown Fastflow Satinwood, mixed to Farrow and Ball “Joa’s White”.

In the master bedroom and wall in wardrobe area, the ceilings were painted using Crown Vinyl Matt, mixed to Little Greene “Slaked Lime”. The walls and woodwork were painted using Crown Clean Extreme, mixed to Little Greene “Green Stone”. We also coated the woodwork with Sadolin Polyurethane Clear Satin Varnish for durability.

The final touch, was wallpapering the feature wall with wallpaper from Graham and Brown.

Once completed, we demasked, tidied and snagged. All ready for the new flooring to be fitted.

It’s great to see this project starting to tackle the final stages of completion. 😊

Finally, finally, finally got round to getting my van wrapped. I’ve had the vehicle nearly 12 months and it’s taken this long to find the time to design what I wanted. I’m really happy with it and it encompasses the professional thriving business we are. It pays to not rush these things and have a clear vision of what you want to achieve.
