Our Story

Little Crooked Tree, is a small independent gift shop and gallery based at Priest’s Mill, Caldbeck in the Northern Fells of the Lake District. The shop is packed full of inspiration, with lots of unusual gifts for the home and garden. Opened in 2015 by couple Debbie Murray and Jon Lamey, the shop is an eclectic mix of the latest books, cards, gifts for children, locally and British made toiletries and gifts, garden ornaments, and products from local wood turners and fine art cards. Also at the Mill are the acclaimed Wool Clip Cooperative, who produce and prepare local wool to make lots of wonderful woollen items. We also have a further craft shop and the Watermill Cafe opposite us with garden by the beck and village cricket pitch next door. Free parking too, just look for the signs by the Church to the Mill.

Owner Jon Lamey, is also an artist specialising in Pyrography, whereby he burns wood to create beautiful lake district scenes. He can often be found working on pieces in the shop and is happy to discuss commissions and talk with visitors while he is working.
