🚨 Another flooring failure caused by poor preparation! 🚨

This week, we came across a latex that hadn’t been properly primed or checked for moisture — and as you can see, the result speaks for itself. The latex has simply uplifted and failed. 😬

So, how do we fix it?

The existing failed material will need to be removed, followed by the application of a resin DPM. Once that has been correctly installed, we can prime the floor and apply the appropriate latex to create a sound, stable base for the finished flooring.

This is exactly why using a professional who understands the correct products, preparation and processes for each individual floor is worth every penny. 👌

There are so many different latexes and smoothing compounds available, and knowing which product to use, where and why is absolutely key to achieving a floor that lasts.

Don’t leave your flooring to chance — get it right from the start. 🏠

Like all our jobs we never know what we are going to find when we uplift a floor! In this case it was a massive crack down the room! So we used Ardex fill and repair to make sure this wouldn’t affect our latex later on for the customer and then we DPM the floor as moisture levels were high. Once this was done then we could prime and latex the floor ready for the LVT to go down. Some times jobs have issues but with care and attention we can sort it so the perfect floor can be laid! Contact us on 01276 609900 or pop into our show room in Blackwater by the station and let us look after your new flooring project.
