This week I've been thinking about how homes and spaces can be improved by working with the space you already have.

Here's a space I designed and crafted from a former kitchen. It would have been all too easy to convert this space into a utility area, but creative thinking has resulted in a whole extra living space for my clients to enjoy.

With building costs higher than ever, you might be wondering if there’s another way to get the space you crave. You already have more potential than you think. You just need to look at your home with fresh eyes.

🌟 Be Honest About How You Live 🌟

Before you even consider structural work, pause and reflect. How do you actually use your home? Which rooms do you gravitate toward?

It’s easy to assume you need more space when what you really need is better-designed space.

Do you have a dining room that is only used once a year, while everyone ends up gathering in the kitchen? Perhaps your spare room is full of clutter, but it could be a calm office with a clear-out and a rethink. When you’re honest about your routines and lifestyle, hidden opportunities begin to reveal themselves.

I'm taking bookings now for the New Year for design consultations if you want to discover extra valuable space in your home 💫 🏡

Last week, I mentored the winning team of 3rd year students at the University of Gloucestershire as part of the 2025 BIID Student Design Challenge. It was a lot of fun, and I was extremely impressed with the brilliant teamwork and creativity. The winning presentation showcased a thoughtful design, given the short timeframe of the challenge. Congratulations to the team!

✨ Feeling inspired after a great, and one of the best, visits to Decorex at Olympia London ✨

There’s something special about this event set in the historic, light-filled halls of Olympia, it’s the perfect backdrop for a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship.

This year’s show was full of new and interesting suppliers, with an abundance of textures, colours, and materials, everything I love to explore. I even managed a quiet walk around before opening, soaking in all the beautiful details before joining the BIID Collaboration Breakfast.

It’s been a brilliant, if slightly exhausting, couple of days , and I’m full of fresh ideas and inspiration. I can’t wait to start weaving some of it into future projects! 🎨✨

Thrilled to be part of Design Central North West today in my role as BIID Ambassador for the North and North West.

The setting was the beautiful Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire, a venue that embodies history, craftsmanship, and elegance. It looked magnificent in the Autumn sunshine today. 🍁🍂

I chaired an engaging panel talk on what makes an interior truly timeless. A topic that continues to spark rich conversation between designers, clients, and makers.

We explored how timeless design transcends trends, drawing cues from history and culture, and how spaces endure only when they hold meaning and connection for the people who live in them.

A big thank you to my fellow panellists James Roberts, Melinda Kiss and Iliada Rossi for their insights, and to the audience for such thoughtful questions.

🍂 Autumn has arrived, and with it that familiar shift in light and colour. Just as the seasons turn, so too does our industry move into one of its busiest and most inspiring periods. It’s trade show season!

Last week in London, I had the chance to explore new launches that reflect the mood of the moment. Warm, earthy tones are everywhere: rich terracottas, soft clays, and grounded neutrals paired with organic, flowing forms. These palettes and shapes seem to echo Autumn itself: grounded, comforting, and quietly energising.

Among the highlights was the William Morris-inspired collection at House of Hackney. Rooted in heritage yet reimagined for today, they are a reminder of how timeless design can be both innovative and deeply authentic.

I’m excited to see how these designs will weave into the projects and spaces we’ll design this Autumn.

Every bespoke kitchen begins with a vision. ✨

We sit down, sketch ideas, and listen to how you want to live in the space. From there, every detail is planned with care — layouts, finishes, lighting, all chosen to suit your lifestyle.

Then comes the craft: bringing those plans to life with precision and care. And finally, the installation, where everything is fitted seamlessly so the kitchen feels like it’s always belonged in your home.

Not just a kitchen, but the heart of your home, designed for the way you live.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of working with wonderful clients to create a kitchen that truly reflects both their lifestyle and the heritage of their home.

Inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement, the design honours craftsmanship and timeless detail, while introducing all the functionality and flow needed for modern living. The goal was always to create a space befitting of the home — a kitchen that feels rooted in history, yet ready to serve as the heart of family life today.

There’s a lot more to share about this wonderful home, and the work continues! Watch this space…
