Green 🌿

I love foliage, trees, wild grasses, green florals that add depth, aromatic herbs and sustainable floristry.

I feel like Mother Earth and my country needs treating better than what we do. I do my bit in what sometimes feels like ‘pissing in the wind’ in this plastic filled industry but I will always stand up for what I believe in.

Just as in 1998 I stood up in an Industrial Tribunal and won my case for s*x discrimination and unfair dismissal because I reported my then Manager for s*xual harassment, I hope that at 12 weeks pregnant I helped others back then and now to stop all this nonsense that we see if we look for the truth.

It’s a no brainer for me today 💚

Blush pink 🌸🌿

Soft, romantic and a favourite tone, so easy to blend with creams, white and all pastels. I always like to add a pop of a deeper or richer colour, in this case a brighter pink zinnia peeping out of the back to add depth.

Hayley’s bridesmaid holds her bouquet in the PERFECT position, nice relaxed arms and showcasing her dress and flowers beautifully!

Blue hues can be tricky to work with in floral design, but when done right, it's breathtaking.

It’s a funny old world 🌿

This is my highest viewed and saved image on Pinterest. I captured the light perfectly as the sun was falling as I worked in my workshop.

It also looked so beautiful alongside another for stunning Brides Emily & Becky on their Wedding Day.

What you don’t see is the hours of headspace, planning and timing the perfection of said beauty.

The black line below the bouquet image is an indicator for casket spray lengths on my bench used for farewell arrangements, equally taking up as much headspace that I also I adore creating.

Social media is such a powerful resource to display your work, often replicated. I took a massive break from the self inflicted pressure to self promote at the start of this year, mainly as I was ill and I focused my energy elsewhere. Was there a massive drop in views, impressions? Yes. Has it affected my ability to get more business? No. I’m staying in my lane.

Have a great bank holiday people and huge adoration and love to my fellow sustainable florists, I met up with an amazing one yesterday - we are such a supportive community of grafters behind the scenes ❤️

Pure Summer 🌿

Hard to believe this is from 4 years ago, it’s effortless, a garden style collection created from a beautiful flower farm sadly not growing anymore, I miss your green fingers 💚🌿

I should’ve been doing admin yesterday all day but the weather beckoned and I yearned to ground in my garden, so I did. Sometimes you have to go with your heart and trust.

Spring Equinox 🌿

Nothing says Spring like a full boot of beautiful blooms. I love having the opportunity to test my design skills to create something totally new.

A beautiful spring/summer meadow for a gorgeous lady who loved my flowers and her family’s final wish for her memory tree to be surrounded by them.

My flower meadows are always foam free created using sustainable floristry techniques - vessel, chicken wire and pot tape but requested zero plastic or containers, so I created something beautiful using moss - similar to what I do for my farewell flowers. I was so pleased with the result and it’s given me loads of ideas for fully compostable designs.

Discernment 🌿

This Christmas I decided to not participate in holding wreath workshops, deciding to create and sell my own instead, using high quality materials and British grown foliage and as in this image made yesterday, adding my own beautiful dried strawflowers.

I also found the time (and got absolutely wet through with my little helper- see stories 🐾) to clear some flower beds, chop some holly and ivy and rescue a dunnock that was trapped inside my polytunnel. I came home with a list of jobs and felt that anxiousness that I was so behind from where I ‘should’ be.

I still need to do my own wreath, buy and decorate a Christmas tree and start gift shopping. I used to be an Account Manager in a highly pressured and time sensitive industry where meeting deadlines was key and time management was my forte so I know I could join the circus if I wanted, but I don’t.

It’ll be reyt.
