We were recently asked to go and look at a carpet that had rippled and was becoming a trip hazard. The customer then explained we had fitted the carpets in 1990 (the year the shop opened) and that she still had the invoice along with various others from jobs we had done since.

From years of wear the carpet had indeed come loose. However it was easily fixed with a restretch, saving our customer the expense of replacing the large lounge and hallway area.

We might not have gotten another sale from this customer but we’ve fitted countless more for her friends and family over the years.

Repeat custom and recommendations are the foundation of our business which is still growing and getting stronger after 36 years.

DON’T WORRY, WE’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!

It’s time for a new shop sign at Kestrel, in fact it’s long overdue! Our new sign has been expertly fabricated by Helen and is ready to put up.

However, between the adverse weather conditions and the sorry state of the roof underneath it’s turned into a bigger job than anticipated.

We had hoped to have it up tomorrow but if it doesn’t happen we’ll be back at it Monday 🤞

We sometimes uncover flooring time capsules underneath your old carpets. This vinyl flooring fitted throughout a bungalow in Townville was a wedding present from 1959! I wonder whether this was the norm or the height of fashion?

Anyway, 66 years of happy marriage later and the owners still have great flooring taste but sadly this had to be covered back up.
